I moved from an android phone to the iPhone 5 and I really wish I'd held out for the S4. The iPhone 5 does support 4G, I have it now, but it tends to lose signal rather frequently - a common problem with the iPhone 5, the customer service rep. told me.

I find the iPhone too restrictive! You can't just up and change your ringtone, you have to purchase them through iTunes. I miss having a home screen to tuck all of my apps away into. I miss having a back button that takes me from whatever app I'm in straight back to the other app, as opposed to having to go through the home screen on the way back. I miss being able to clear my browser history and cookies etc. by choice, instead of having to close the app from the home screen to do it (something I didn't even know that I could do until a fellow user pointed it out to me!). There are so many niggling little things that I find so annoying about the iPhone which aren't that significant by themselves, but they all add up.

Android phones have a more open OS, more easily customised than the apple software, and yes the OS might be very streamlined and clean, but it comes at the expense of options. And requires a manual.

To me it's like the iPhone forces you to play by Apple's rules (organised 'fun') whilst android phones allow you to play by your own rules. In conclusion: stick with the Samsung!

The only reason I mentioned that is because when I phoned O2 they said the S4 will be ok on 4g network where as Iphone does not support it. Maybe he was talking rubbish:rotfl:

I think he was talking rubbish
my son as the 5 and t-mobile as just ask him if he wants to upgrade to 4g

If you do keep the s4 make sure you get a 8,16,32gb class 10 memory card

On my s3 it kept freezing until i change the card to a class 10 been fine since i did that.

Thank you all for your advice.

I think I have made up my mind to stick with the Samsung S4.

One of the benefits I had not thought of is that I can add an SD card to increase the memory but with the Iphone I am stuck with 16gb.

I have had a play around with the phone and I must admit it is addictive:D

    Thanks once again xx

You hadn't even posted this yet when I started typing my post on the iPhone! :D That's because a) there are so many annoying problems to list and b) I had to wrestle with autocorrect.

I rest my case, and I'm glad you're sticking with the s4!

The iPhone 5 supports the 4G used by EE, however it's not designed to work on the other frequencies of 4G which are going to be used by O2/Vodafone

Yeah your right its EE that's what t-mobile want to upgrade him two

I told him to leave it a while because the 4G is still patchy were we live

To be honest i didn't know about the O2/Vodafone were different 4G
Does that mean 3 will be different form the other networks two?

Also if you go to apple to buy an unlocked iPhone 5 will it not work on all 4G networks.

Another vote for the Samsung. Better phone and you won't get caught for life in the Apple ecosystem. :D
