CAA says flight was 'extraordinary' what now?

Options
Just had feedback from CAA after filing a complaint with them against a late Thomas Cook flight. They consider that the delay was 'extraordinary'. (More than 5 hours)
Does anyone have any thoughts on this........ie: is it worth carrying on with this claim throught the small claims court?
Has anyone acheived a positive outcome after doing this with these cirmcumstances.
I'd be very grateful for some advice.

Yes they have. The CAA's assessment holds no legal weight, though it arguably makes your case a bit more tricky. But airlines have settled with claimants out of court, even when the CAA have backed the airline - so you still have everything to play for.

(I'm afraid the CAA seem quite liberal in their interpretation of what constitutes ECs ...)

Ignoring the existence of the CAA seems to be the best course of action for people who wish to receive compensation. ;)

have PM'd you but don't be worried about what the CAA are saying when they do eventually get around to replying to you just keep going with your claim and stick to your guns :) I did even though the CAA sided with Thomas cook and I had a very good outcome :) keep us informed
