help! trying to sell but not getting anywhere?!
Options
Hi
I am wondering if anyone can help me, I have a Peugeot 307 cc to sell...and I really need to sell it asap as I can no longer afford it!!
I have been trying for a few months now without success, I have it on Autotrader, preloved and Gumtree.
The car is in good condtion - 49 000 miles on the clock - moy and tax till nov - I have good pics up too and have only had one bite!!
I drop the price every month but cant go too low as I am still paying it back so need to cover that amount...its down to £3900
what am I doing wrong?! it is a financial strain and I am not sure where else to advertise/try sell
I had a look on the buy any car site but the offer price is lower than what i need to pay back
any advice would be much appreciated

i'd be surprised if u get the outstanding finance back, but...

Most people will run a mile if they know it's still on finance.0

its priced too high - that would be the only reason it's not shifting
edit: see my next post - maybe not the only reason! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

this is also a good point, have heard horror stories of cars being on finance then sold with the seller saying the money would be used to pay off the finance and then not paying it off! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. How long is the finance over and how long have you been paying?
Handing it back may be an option.
If not then you need to sell it before the summer ends other you'll take an even bigger hit in the winter and have made more monthly payments.
BTW, try it on Ebay at a lower price and stick a fresh MOT on it. £4k for a car for four months MOT is crazy.0 -
I have nto mentioned to anyone that it is on finance, How can I hand it back? I bought it from car giant...and finace through another company that work with car giant.
Here is the link to the gumtree advert
it is a 2007 car

I know I need to sell it soon as winter is coming...arrghhLove reading the oldstyle board...always something to learn!0 -
you're about the money http://www.autotrader.co.uk/search/used/cars/peugeot/307/postcode/g117rt/radius/1501/maximum-mileage/up_to_60000_miles/onesearchad/used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew/fuel-type/petrol/maximum-age/up_to_7_years_old/price-to/4000/body-type/convertible/page/1/sort/priceasc
although people would probably go for a dealer purchase for the same money as you're selling for piece of mind - imo you'll probably have to drop the price for a quick sale especially as it's autoThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. Finally found it on Autotrader, took a while as you have it on a different price

No mention of MOT, VED or any indication it has service history and it reads like a trader advert.
The photos are of the car wet and not a great location.
Take it down the local park or somewhere with some greenery when the sun is out. Take photos with the roof up and down.
Ditch the telesafe number, no body likes paying to call them. Buy a throwaway sim card and use that.
Put it on Ebay and Pistonheads too, Gumtree is more successful for older and cheaper cars.
Have a look how this is written for tips
