Suddenly no 3G service on O2 at home

I've been with O2 for years and renew my contract as I know they provide 3G in my local area. For the past couple of days, you can only get Edge service in this area, which used to have full 3G. In no longer offering what they're supposed to as part of the contract (ie, service removed rather than me not checking whether it existed in the first place - buyer beware) is O2 in breach of the contract now? I want to terminate and go to a competitor that does give me what I pay for where O2 has stopped. They are ignoring tweets and their status page says the coverage in my area is fine. I've tried switching 3G on and off and the whole phone on and off but it's still got no 3G. My issue is that this used to be fine!

Do other people have the same issue with 02 in your area? The more proof the better, kind of thing?

Have you checked whether they're doing work in the area? This happens to us when they take a mast out for servicing/upgrading. You can check engineering works on their website.
