Thank you all for your advice, I just phoned the dentist. They said she could either see me at 10.00 pm tonight! or 1.20 pm tomorrow. She is the same one that took the tooth out. I explained to the receptionist that I am in pain. It is coming and going, which is ok because at least I am getting some respite.

I've booked in to see her at 1.20 pm tomorrow. Just for reassurance that all is good. The dentist said that they doubt there will be a charge as its not even been a week and it will be a check just to put my mind at rest. They said that because it was such a difficult extraction, it is possible to still have pain.

I asked Stan to have a look at it and he cant see any thing other than a gap and stitches. I will press her tomorrow to give me antibiotics and/or stronger pain killers. THANK you to all who have posted above. The support is lovely here, and it spurred me onto make that call.

Have been AWOL all day, but reading back - I still think you should go to a walk-in-centre dentist tonight., if you have them.

A second opinion never hurts - why didn't you pick the app they offered this evening?

The pain today is unbearable. Had this tooth out on monday. I know something is not right, but too worried about money to go to the dentist. I know that sounds awful, but money is a bit tight at the minute.

Hugs to all that need them today, and I guess there are a few of us. Rose, please don't feel guilty. Easy enough for us to say, but you really are doing the right thing. As someone said earlier, would your sister rather your mum was lying on the floor for hours in the dark and alone? She's in the safest place for her.

Oh poor you, there is bound to be a walk in centre near by you, with an emergency dentist,I am sure this will not cost to put right, but you need help with it now.....
If you decide to await your own dentist again don't think he will charge ,the tooth is already out,Know how you feel and I do hope you get some release from pain soon .

popped to see Mum. Was on her way back to her room and was not happy as there is a buzzer going all the time. But I pointed out she is a good sleeper should be able to ignore it. She also said they take ages to answer the buzzer ( took 30 minutes when she called them when I was there) but there are over 50 residents. Anyway her main concern is the toilet in her room is really small and she has a gutter zimmer frame to support her arm and she has to reverse in and when I tried with her I found it impossible. So i called the care assistant and asked for a comode. When they came to assess her at home they said there was no room for it but there is. Anyway 10 minutes later they brought one and when I left she was much happier.
