Hi tweets
I said about getting a hard drive caddy for a laptop that had been 'coffee'ed' for being able to remove the hard drive and put it in a caddy to retrieve everything on the drive from. But an option, which I have also done, is if you can get hold of any old unwanted computer (lappy or desktop), preferably with a reasonable size of hard drive, format the drive to delete everything on it as long as you're sure nothing is wanted, then put it into an appropriate sized caddy. The caddys aren't a lot, and they are alot more sturdy than pen drives for keeping stuff safe, but they do take up a little more space.
I also keep mine secure in a hard aluminium case that I happened to pick up in a charity shop, it's like an A4 briefcase type thing with foam inserts, worth looking for something like this at car boots.
Thanks Elsie I can format the hard drive on my laptop. Looked at the caddy on Amazon so are you saying you need two hardrives ? One in laptop and another hardrive you backup files photos onto and store in the caddy? Or am I going down the wrong path0 -

Slowly the penny dropped:D

Don't think I will be bothering when new charges come in
You never know, if people stop listing, they might stop with all these daft new rules.0 -
Hi sweet cheeks, I'm fine. You OK? How's the new hairdo? Still getting chased by men in the street?
Work has been messing me around so have been feeling quite sorry for myself (and eating at least 6 packs of crisps every night to console myself which has meant that 5:2 has become 7 days of 3000 calories and 0 days of anything less!). In 2 minds as to whether I hand my notice in or man up and be treated like a pile of steaming !!!!!!!
You have got to really evaluate this. When you are on your deathbed, will you regret walking out of this job? I doubt it.
What little time we have - we must try to live it to the full and be as happy as we can be. If your day at work is awful (and remember we spend a lot of time at work), then we bring that negative feeling home in the evening, is it worth it?
Have you got a mortgage to pay off? If you left, would you be able to survive? These are the questions you need to ask yourself. I feel very sorry for those folk who have to stay in a job and get walked over and treated like a slave, because they can't leave.
Weigh it up and make a decision. Life is but a whisper. Gone in a second - you look back and think... wow. Where did it all go?
Bless you and those who are in an awful predicament at work. Its times like these (recession), that brings out the worst and of course best in people).

Scamps! I empathise with you! I remember when I went chasing the 32 pence fairy liquid. Went to every tesco express in a 10 mile radius. And guess what? I got a £35.00 ticket after parking outside one and there was a queue. So now, when I glance at my stash of it in the garage, instead of thinking...oooh, aren't you cheap? I think, "ooh.. weren't you expensive?

In alphabetical order, hornetgirl, lovingtescoforever and neosi, you should all be ashamed of yourselves! Still had wine in there with sels on miniatures stating 18.7cl or 75cl. Note, had is the operative word.:D
How many of you will be there for the relaunch on Monday?
:rotfl: duly chastised.
I will be in Scotland on Monday.0 -

Always the best bet is to have your usual laptop/computer that you use as normal PLUS as an alternative to buying a full priced external drive, (which you could do, but my way can save a few pennies as long as you have an old hard drive that costs you 'nothing.') Always a good idea to regularly back up important pictures and documents (voucher pdf's :rotfl: ) to the external drive and store it safely, just in case the computer goes pffftt!!!!! :eek:0
