    Afternoon elite.

I was wondering if I could ask your advice. I know you're a well-travelled bunch.....does anyone have any suggestions for a European destination that is reasonably priced in terms of accommodation/food etc?

I have some air miles I need to use before October so the (European) world is my oyster.

Any and all recommendations welcome :)

Nice would be my choice. Easy bus ride from airport, cheap bus/tram for getting around city, also easy to get to Monaco on the train. There's an Ibis right next to the station which is clean and reasonable.

Getting ready to go to Asda for some of those haddock in lemon sauce at £1 that our crappy Tescos don't have. We had some last week & they're nice - well we thought they were!

Can I ask if these are still working against Tesco?
New Potatoes with herbs (barcode please!)
Bombay potatoes in tins (hubby got addicted)
Cauli/Broccoli (2 for £1) - although Asda will probably be wiped clean.

    Anything else worth doing?

I think I have my Morrisons list - thanks to Savvy - going to get 6 Dr Oetker, all the same :(, so they compare.

Plus look & see if I can find the Oxo in a separate shop.

The fish is still working today - I've just got £3.91 off a womble where they bought a few fruit and salad items AND a packet of the haddock ! Pity they didn't get two !

I've had quite a useful afternoon - 4 wombled receipts (a bit soggy but they will dry OK ) and the first 3 produced around £6 between them. The last one is too early yet.

Filled up nearly empty tank with diesel (plus 3 x 5 litre cans) and used x 5p coupons.

And got 3 x Finest Restaurant collection Lamb shanks at £10 each or 3 for 2. In theory 6 Finest coupons should have scanned - but not even one would work and the new CA didn't know how to do non scans. Supervisor called (luckily not the Poison Dwarf that gives everyone a hard time). She showed the CA what do do and manually entered 2 coupons herself. As she was walking away she heard me say to the CA ' now you know what to do so you can do these please ' as I gave her the other 4 coupons. The Supervisor said 'but you've only got £10 of Finest so can only use 2 ' - I was able to honestly tell her (and show her) that I had 3 packs of the £10 Lamb and she was very happy to let the other coupons go through. I didn't feel it necessary to remind her that they were on a multi buy. And I also used a PP from last week so paid around £3.50 for what looks like 3 good meals.

I don't really understand why not even one coupon would scan - these Tesco own coupons are a nightmare. Fortunately my local store reckons that as long as you have the right item they must do a non scan transaction if the Tesco coupons won't scan.

How much? £1.49 for fun sized gala apples in Ald1 . I know some people swear by Ald1 and L1dl but apart from fruit/veg/deals now and again (not all the range) I am not convinced that they are cheaper (or maybe it is just the way we shop with glitches and APG etc?).

Hi, the gala apples in t today were 2 packs for £2.50 ( usually £2:15 each pk 7 in a pk)

Still a bit much, but better than normal price.:)
