Missing item from an online order - website no longer exists now?

Hi all,
I recently ordered from craftsuperstore.co.uk and when my delivery finally arrived, I was missing an item. No problem I thought, I just emailed them and told them what was missing, quoting my order number. I didn't receive a response. I went to the website today to see if there's an option under 'my account' or something to report a missing item to find that the website doesn't seem to exist on the internet anymore.
Could be a coincidence and there's a technical issue but chances are they don't exist anymore. Do I have any rights?

The offices of The Craft Superstore Limited are now closed.
The company has ceased to trade and its directors are seeking the advice of partners at the financial advisory firm, Cork Gully LLP. It is anticipated that liquidators of the company will be appointed at meetings of the company’s shareholders and creditors that are to be held on 7 August 2013.
Customers that have paid for orders that have not yet been received should email craftsuperstore@corkgully.com with details of their name, address and amounts owed.
If you are a supplier, please also email details of your claim to craftsuperstore@corkgully.com.
Upon receipt of your email, you will be sent a notice in respect of the meeting of creditors along with a proxy and statement of claim form for your completion. These should be completed at your earliest convenience and returned to the offices of Cork Gully LLP at 52 Brook Street, London, W1K 5DS by no later than 12 noon on 6 August 2013, being the business day before the meeting of creditors.0 -

If the company still exists then you have all the rights that the Sale of Goods Act offers, so that would be to receive your item or be given a refund. If it no longer exists then you can no longer sue it, you would just be one in a probably long line of creditors that would be owed money.
If you paid on a credit card and the item cost more than £100 then they are liable and you can claim from them. You could also try a chargeback, but that depends on what's in their bank account and whether it has been frozen.0 -

Can't say i'm surprised that's whats happened. Thank you for the info. I've emailed them but I doubt i'll get anything back! I'm just lucky I received the bulk of my order. I must've been one of the last lucky ones.0 -

Did you pay by either debit or credit card?
Maybe you card provider can help you.
Have a read of MSE's Chargeback article.0 -
What a pity another good company has gone to the wall. Over the years I ordered a lot of craft stuff from them & they used to have some great offers. But I guess times are hard & people are not spending so much on hobbies as they once did.The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -

No it does not.....
Any chargebacks are paid by their merchant bank. So NO funds in the companies account makes not difference to the customer.
OP. Needs to contact their card provider.
Given that we have no idea on the missing item value. Best bet is that you will have to provide a copy of the invoice showing the missing item value and then a partial chargeback can be actioned.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -
