I have logged on to ebay today to see ive had feedback left, all my stars have always been on par and non lower than the other, apart from now. I have been left positive feedback but have been marked low on communication, packaging and dispatch time.
So annoyed, the buyer won on sunday, I put down in listings that it will be dispatched within 4 working days of payment being received, and also the items are sent second class recorded, the buyer paid on sunday and I posted first thing Monday morning. the item was bubble wrapped and placed in a plastic postage bag it was not a breakable item but was in a box so bubble wrapped, I marked the item as dispatched on my way back from the post office. Just don't get why they would mark me down when everything was as it should be :(
Blocked list I think

Have you considered asking ebay to withdraw the feeback due to its unreasonability? If you can demonstrate that it was posted within the agreed time frame, etc, you might get it withdrawn.

People want items as cheap as possible, with free postage and they want it right away. They obviously didn't have to wait long and it was less than the time stated for it being dispatched, but that doesn't mean that the buyer wasn't hoping for it even sooner.

Perhaps in future send a quick polite email letting the buyer know you've posted the item, the tracking number and to let you know if there's any problems. Most people won't care much about it, but it'll be worth it for all them awkward buyers out there who are more than happy to mark down stars.

You can't please all buyers and I'm not sure that ebay would remove a positive feedback unless the buyer complained it was wrong. You could always contact ebay though and see.

Thank you, will try contacting ebay, its ridiculous, they won it sunday evening at 7.50pm how can they expect it sooner, it clearly states 2nd class within 4 days of payment recieved, I send all my items second as its cheaper unless they are large then its via courier which I book as soon as they have paid. Just feel disappointed that one person has marked me down for no reason what so ever after I have had all my stars on par :(

I always thought that the dashboard was slower to update than feedback (up to 24 hours). If the feedback was left today, then you may be looking at the wrong buyer as the culprit.

I haven't sold for a few weeks so knew what my dashboard numbers were, he was the first buyer to have left feedback and my numbers were down.

    ^^This!

I post same day whenever possible, next day otherwise I send first class, give free P&P, use good quality new packaging and always send a short email to let the buyer know their item has been posted, yet I've still had one or two mark me down for comms and P&P! Don't worry about it, some buyers seem to expect the item on their doorstep the following day if not beforehand!

If you don't send that email you automatically get 5* on communication providing you also meet this criteria:

    • Tracking is uploaded or the item is marked as dispatched within 1 working day after payment has been received
    • Stated dispatch time is 1 working day or same day
    • The payment method is PayPal, making the payment date visible to eBay
    • No communication took place between the buyer and seller from 14 days before the transaction up until the point that Feedback was left. This includes messages within My eBay and any opened cases

Plus the buyer gets an email from ebay advising them anyway.

If you are giving free P&P then that is also an automatic 5* too. HTH.

Alongside This Year's suggestions, I'd take full advantage of the next Free Listing Weekend, the resulting feedback from any sales will help push your average back up - quickly!

[It may be worth looking around and listing items that you never got around to photographing and uploading before, just to get you over the danger period]. ;)
