This strikes me as rather odd. Firstly, paypal seems a rather "small-time" way of handling large amounts of money for what is a presumably large organisation - surely a standard bank account would be better ? And is their cashflow situation really so tight that they can't make payments until they've been paid ? That's the sort of approach I can understand from a local one-man-band builder or whatever, but not a large "professional" organisation.
My husband was a local one man band builder but he had a more professional approach than this. That is the standard reply they send to everyone. They have used it since the day they started and it doesn't matter when you send an email about a late payment, you will always get that reply.
It's the first time I've had this reply and I thought it odd that they said they had a cash flow problem. They have paid me on time before now. Perhaps if the people who commission the surveys don't pay then the people who do the surveys don't get paid either. I don't know about Paypal. More people seem to be using it this year. They always used to be expensive but maybe they're becoming competitive with the banks for their charges.Don't mess with pensioners. :cool:0 -

Sorry, wasn't meaning to offend any builders ( or other tradesmen ) ! I just meant that I can understand how they genuinely can have cashflow problems, especially if they have to buy expensive materials up front, before being paid. But a large organisation shouldn't be using this as an excuse.0 -

What excuse should they be using?
It works for them, they are late in paying, users emails them and they send that reply and user waits longer then gets paid.
They probably just think "it works, so why change it".0 -
I've just been paid by them. It took 3 weeks which is well inside their time scales.
I always get paid by BACS which seems to be reasonably quick but I've often heard of people having problems with pay pal. Maybe worth trying BACS next time?0
