Has anyone ever canvassed in a road where they wish to buy?

This method was really successful for my friend, there was one particular road in the area they wanted to move to so distributed leaflets all along it and they got a call from someone, their mother had died and they hadn't got round to putting the house on the market yet. Worked out well for both parties and I think they've just exchanged.First home purchased 09/08/2013
New job start date 24/03/2014
