Thats great news, after speaking with MOJ who advised to write a formal complaint which i did, the response wasnt from red hawk legal but universal collections i phoned them monday to advise i was in dispute they advised they would pass it back to red hawk and today i get another letter! chamring.

as they dont seem to respond to me bar theraten me im unsure where to go from here?

    thanks
    Marc.

Once 8 weeks has passed since you sent your formal complaint and assuming they don't resolve it to your satisfaction you can ask the MOJ to take it up. If they are harassing you by telephone you need to complain to Redhawk about that too

In my view it is extremely unlikely that they or Universal would go beyond threatening legal proceedings.

    Hi Marc
I must inform you that Universal at the time of writing do not hold the authority/licence from the OFT to be able to chase debts, therefore, they must be reported to the TS for them to take this up with the OFT. Send the Universal letters to the TS/MOJ and I would send a letter to Universal a harassment letter, I am sure there must be one on MSE. If you need one just shout.

Unless you have signed any documentation ie T&C's, letter of instruction with Redhawk since November 2012 then they cannot chase you for a debt. But to be very sure you can always take separate legal advice and keep on at the MOJ to continue to investigate the goings on with this company and take some action. Apparently, the more complaints they receive they will act - we hope.

Whatever you do when you write to these people ie Redhawk / Universal do not sign with your normal signature as they may copy it.

  • Hi im in the same boat with Red Hawk legal, took a claim out in 2010 with Life style claims, paid the up front fees, was told by the administrators that as was a creditor of life style claims and that my claims for ppi where unsuccessfully, Ultimate contact me , said they would continue with my claim and get their cost back from the lender.Won my case in oct 2013 , Two days later had Red Hawk legal on to me asking for payment of fees with in 7 days or they would get debt collectors on to me. Ask them for a an legal document stating i had a contract with them ,they just say they are entitled to the fees as i had a contract with life style claims, told them im not paying and to take me to court, they are just trying it on they have no legal right to claim fees off me

In my view Redhawk do not hold legal title to Lifestyle's contracts. I would read here http://www.legalbeagles.info/forums/showthread.php?44302-Red-Hawk-Legal&p=394317#post394317
