I can't understand why people don't go to auction houses more, I have seen fantastic pieces of furniture go for an absolute pittance, but then I can see the potential in them, and I love painting!0

I thought the "branch" hooks were worse..... I mean seriously, they weren't going to hold much and weren't particularly attractive either IMHO. I did quite like the 1st version of the fire surround though, and felt it would have stained quite nicely, which would have matched the wood up.0
