EPSON inkjets and compatible cartridges

Rockabilly, I've tried that brand to no avail. Rumour has it that it is firmware in the printer that's the problem. Hopefully next gen of cartridges will counter it. Damn monopolistic practices. Cheerio, Phil.0

I just spoke to https://www.nd-ink.co.uk about the DX5000 cartridge problem and they said:
"I have just spoken to our supplier about the compatibility issue with these Epson printers. They inform me that a new cartridge which is compatible both the new and old batches of these printers is going to be available to us within the next three weeks. Please contact us again in three weeks time and we will should be able to update you further on the subject."
This same advice may apply to the other epson printers people are speaking about. My recommendation is to get in touch with them directly as they seem a reasonable firm for prices and are certainly speedy in reply. Hopefully it looks like the generic cartridges are fighting back.

I've heard that epson printers manufactured after 1st March may be incompatible with non epson cartridgesDoes anyone know if the Epson R360 is affected similarly as it uses the same cartridges?
Many thanks
Janet
At least until Projet or other manufactures catch up.

UK law has no say over the terms and conditions a manufacturer wants to set out for their warranty. A manufacturer is under no obligation to offer any warranty at all. The sale of goods act only covers the responsibilities of the retailer. Unless you are referring to some other specific law in which case it may be helpful to say which one."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

I purchased my Epson R360 on 19th March 2007.
Is there an easy was to tell if it is one of the older versions?
I haven't tried compatible inks yet.
My photos using Epson inks are brilliant. Is there a discernable difference in the colour quality using compatibles?
Many thanks

Epson Changed their printers slightly, therefore after 1st of April not all will select compatibles. You might have to confirm whether the compatibles have been created for printers manufactured after 1st April (no this is not an April, it is true)
What people also forget is going to places like cartridge world can cost you more then buying the original, I know someone that was playing a 1/3 more for refills.

Would the Continuous Ink System be of any use to you?0 -
Epson and all the others have tried many times to stop you using compatibles (ie chipping them, etc), but they soon get round it. weather you would want to use compatibles is another thing, Try E-Bay for cheap Genuine Carts.:DEpson Changed their printers slightly, therefore after 1st of April not all will select compatibles.
