Phishing email NOT from the CO-OP Watch out!

By using the "View Message Source" you do not actually open the email.
No one is alerted to the activity on your email account by doing this & it does not expose your system to any risk re Trojans etc.
They asked was there a risk in just opening it? (no links clicked)
Your reply: Probably as well to curb your curiosity :-)0 -

To clarify my answer I would reply with:
"How long is a piece of string"
You may open it & have no issue. On the other hand you may just open it & launch a virus on your PC. Or maybe some would be very curious & open a zip file in the email & then get malware infections.
I would suggest not even giving them the chance so just either delete them or report via the systems available.
If you really need to view it use the "view message source" function.0 -
I've had a lot of these phishing e-mails coming into my junk box on my non-comping hotmail account.
Haven't noticed any in my gmail comping e-mail account yet.0 -
Thanks for replying. I use Yahoo mail, and I was just wondering if there is a way to check emails the same way you do on Hotmail without opening them?0

You can have a preview pane the same as hotmail, they are the bottom choices on the "Actions" menu.
By right clicking a message from the list of them you bring up choices which include an option to check the message header if you want.0 -
In yahoo you can hover over the sending name & it will show you the address it came fromproud gran to 4 lovely boys and one little girl0
