The consumer needs to demonstrate an inherent fault only if the supplier disputes the cause of the defect. This has not happened.

Vodafone appears to have disputed that it has any responsibility to the consumer after the warranty has expired (oblivious to the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982) rather than disputing an inherent defect.

Vodafone have finally given in a sent the phone off repair free of charge.
