BT / SKY problems

Back in April I transferred my telephone and Broadband services from SKY to BT. All went well, so I thought. The equipment turned up on time, SKY broadband stopped working, plugged in the router and back online........

I recently checked by SKY bill and found that they were still charging me for Broadband. Rang them up, nothing they can do..... BT did not tell them to cancel the broadband. I can cancel it now and not incur any further charges.

I spoke to BT...... No there was never anything on my original order that said this was a transfer from SKY. They have set up a new account for Broadband, and they have no record of me providing a MAC code (although SKY did say that they had issues a code but could not confirm it was ever used!!).

I have raised a complaint with BT - but I get the feeling that I wont get anywhere with them as the technician kept going on that they never had a MAC from me which I know I supplied but as it was over the phone can not prove!

Does anyone know of what my next step should be? I am wary of cancelling the contract without a refund as this may cause problems getting them to progress the complaint.

Ken

If a MAC wasn't provided or used by BT, then Sky would not have received the cancellation notification.

As Sky is an LLU service and BT Retail Broadband isn't, your connection would have been a new provision.

You would have had to tell Sky the date you want to cancel the service.
