Is There Someone for Everyone?

  • Depends on what you mean...

Do we all have a Soulmate, a "The One", the other half of our circle that we need to find in order to be complete a la Plato?

    I personally don't think that. I'm quite a cynic.

Some people do end up alone, whether they wanted to or not.

Is it possible to meet someone who feels a mutual attraction to you, who enhances your life and vice-versa and with whom you choose to spend the rest of your days? Of Course!

I doubt there is going to be someone who waltzes into your life and with whom everything is totally easy, and you never have to make sacrifices or have difficult discussions etc and that you'll just instinctively "know" how to love them perfectly and everything will be like a fairytale and yadda yadda yadda.

If you really want to find "someone", you've got to play the numbers game. Get out there, meet new people, engage in conversation with people you meet on a daily basis, smile, say Hi etc. Be an interesting person, the kind that people want to be around and who enjoys life regardless of their relationship status. "The One" isn't going to just fall into your lap.

Sorry if all that's a bit harsh and unromantic.

Is there someone for everyone? Well I happen to believe yes, however, I think its a matter of luck/chance/destiny as to whether you ever meet them.

True, I do believe that SOME of us will meet the right person! In my experience till now, I have never come even close to meeting someone to spend my life with!

The old saying of, there is a lid for every pot doesn't ring true for me: I must be a wok then, they don't need a lid! lol

Seriously, its all media driven making people feel like they are "missing out" not being part of a couple. To be honest there are so many people who get together for all the wrong reasons. Better being single, than settling for just anyone! Dont believe that all those couples you see out and about at the weekends are with their soulmates. Some are just "settling" and are really hoping for the same as you.

Nailed it in one...Good sound advice
you have to be engaging to be engaged
I refer to my byline below ...

    Ad hominem
An attack upon an opponent in order to discredit their arguement or opinion. Ad hominems are used by immature and/or unintelligent people because they are unable to counter their opponent using logic and intelligence.

But you may NEVER find them.

If you DO, lock them up in the cellar and NEVER let them out.....just in case, they escape.......:)

I think there is SOMEONE for everybody. I don't think there is that SPECIAL someone for everybody.

Anyone can make a marriage of convenience, or make do with someone who does not make their spirits soar, but Mr or Ms Right is not out there for everyone.

I was lucky. I met the person who made my heart sing when I was 21 and we are still married over forty years later. He still makes my heart sing. :)

He was the RIGHT one, but if I had not met him I would have probably married someone who I liked and respected and thought I loved.
