Also dont forget on the top of shop but dont drop theres magazines for 3 for a quid - not bad to take to work and read in the park of a lunchtime with your packup :D Mind you everytime I get one I spend most of the time snorting through it shaking my head thinking WHOD pay THAT! for a vase/bag/top etc

remember to cancel them tho ;)
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

Virtual hugs are flying your way.

We have had to seriously tighten our belts on and off over the years and are close approaching our smallest waist size yet!!

I had a lovely day out with my family the other day when we went to the beach. It cost £3 to park the car and we took our own butties. Buckets, spades and paddling with sand everywhere but it was a bloody good day. Once upon a time my ideal day would have been dragging round the shops spending money I didn't have, going for lunch I couldn't afford and then feeling guilty and sick cos I didn't know how the bills were going to be paid. But that was then and this is now. You won't always be in the position you are in now - you HAVE to remember that or you'll crack up.

A haircut (why not try your local college for training days - let the students experiment on you!) and a new outfit including shoes needn't be expensive. You NEED these things. They are an investment for your new job. If you feel good on your first day you are going to make a great first impression and you are going to be better at your job because of the confidence you'll get from looking and feeling good.

My heart goes out to you and your hubby but it does does does get better.

    Hi MattFiona

I had a similar thing with my hubby...stopping off to get a newspaper on his way home...taking £10 out of the cash machine..that cost an extra £1.50...recently its gone up to £2...OMG......He has now given me his debit card (fortunately we dont have credit cards ..Phew)....and i always keep a bit of cash in my purse, so if he wants any cash for newspapers..or like this morning he has to pay his work subs and the coffee fund for the month..not quite £10...but had he gone to the cash point he would have took extra out...plus the £2 fee

Could you not have a word with your hubby and get him to work out what he needs for the week, tramfares, newspapers etc ..then get it out at the begining of the week and keep it in a pot and just take out what he needs every day...just so he doesnt feel he has to ask for it - my hubby doesnt care about that bit LOL
my hubby cant believe the difference it has made to his spending...by me taking a bit of cash out of the A/c in my name (i dont have an overdraft)..we have left his A/C to recover and now his overdraft is slowly shrinking....he has a £1800 overdraft facility...and we are at a point now where it is nearly filled back up....then for the next step...telling the bank to reduce the damn thing :-)
Hopefully after a couple of weeks not using his cash card..he will be amazed what a difference it makes...£10-£20 a day wasted or being a bit more organised and carefull and being able to have a few beers of a weekend...and a wife who isnt stressed out...they soon get it :-)
My hubby has always taken lunch from home...luckily they have a microwave, i just serve up an extra meal at tea time for him to take with him...i know not everyone has a micro at work...but on the days we have an evening meal that wont reheat well i make my own bread and he has sandwiches....
We have had a couple of times where he has got a sandwich from the shop ....heavens above a couple of quid for 2 slices of bread......
And none of his mates think its "penny pinching"..especially in winter when hubby sits in the rest room with nice hot casseroles and roast dinners and they have cold sarnis that they have to queue up to get!!!
I have lost count of the number of times he has come home with requests for loaves of bread etc from the lads LOL

hope you are feeling a little more relaxed and positive...knowing you arent alone...
    regards jill
