I think that it is lovely news but my newborn is much cuter!0

Totally underwhelmed!0

Being nearly due myself, I think it's lovely & get all emotional when I see things on the telly.
I'm all for anything that puts a smile on the face of the nation, no matter what it is! :beer:0 -
Just another mouth for us to feed.
With all the focus on trying to get people off benefits, you'd think the government would be voicing their outrage that another couple has added to the welfare cost to the taxpayer.
2200 other children were born in the UK on the same day. Did any of the other 2199 get a mention on the news? Don't think so....
I continue to be surprised how much time and effort people up and down the country put in to "celebrating" the birth/engagement/marriage and "mourning" the death of members of a remote family that is of no relevance to their day to day lives.0 -
RE post #1
I feel there has been far too little news/discussion and i will therefore now go and start another thread on the topic but perhaps with a slightly different slant.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0 -

Bored of it. Not because it's old news, but because I genuinely don't care and never did.0

I'll probably get flamed, but I'm afraid I have zero interest in babies, royal or otherwise.
Sorry, but I have to feign polite interest if it's someone I know personally who has had a new arrival into the family, so I'm certainly not going to get excited about a baby whose family I do not, and never will, know.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
I won't be surprised if we become republic before that baby becomes king.Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.0

Absolutely no interest at all and it was totally galling that what little good tv that was due to be on that night was sidelined just for some overprivileged kid. As others have said, why was this baby considered so much more important than the tens of thousands of others born across the globe that day?
Like LameWolf I have to feign interest in other people's babies anyway. That's fair enough though, they matter to someone just as the babies in my family matter to me. The difference is that I don't expect other people to be interested in my family's babies. I love them because they're related to me (although that didn't stop me realising that some of them were blindingly ugly when they were first born - thank goodness for growing up!)
I hope all the babies born that day will be healthy and happy, and that their mothers are fine.0
