People moaning about the Royal Baby

Are you actually kidding?
The FUTURE KING of this country being born is a non-event?! So tell me, what do YOU class as an important and newsworthy item?
Can't wait to hear this!
Someone was born. It happens hundreds of times a day. Get over it!
Newsworthy event : scientists have discovered that fungicide and pesticide cocktails are what seems to be killing bees. Without bees the human race will have no food within a matter of a few years. At this rate, the future king will have no subjects to rule over as they will all be dead from lack of food.
I call that news, personally.Sanctimonious Veggie. GYO-er. Seed Saver. Get in.0 -

Well yes that IS news, but so is the FUTURE king of the country being born. It IS a big event and it IS newsworthy: get over it. FGS, some people are so grouchy and grumpy on here. You're just determined, no matter what, to poo-poo this lovely happy event. I actually feel sorry for you that you're so full of vitriol and contempt.
Thank goodness that majority of people are FOR the Royals these days. As the amount of thanks that Lottie's post got proves, along with recent polls that show 85% of Brits now support the Royals.
Go stew in your own juices. I can't be bothered with you. Ta-ra. I'm off - you just whinge away.... Nobody is listening...0 -
Nobody is 'harping on' any more than YOU are.
And hello: The FUTURE KING of this country being born is a non-event?! So tell me, what do YOU class as an important and newsworthy item?
Can't wait to hear this!
Here are a few for you:- The passing of the Act permitting gay marriage;
- News of the likes of Nelson Mandela, who put their causes ahead of their own lives;
- Any scientific discovery which relates to curing serious illness or understanding the universe;
- Anything which explains why babies dying around the world aren't mentioned at all, nor the mothers that die in childbirth because they have no access to medical care, nevermind an entire private hospital which didn't allow any other bookings for July to ensure that Kate had the entire place to herself whenever she needed it.
Or as a good friend put it:
"The BBC has a peculiar definition of "a major historical event". The Cuban missile crisis was a major historical event. The eradication of smallpox was a major historical event. The invention of the internet was a major historical event. The birth of someone who may or may not live to inherit a ceremonial function is not a major historical event."Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -

Yes, so would I, because it is relevant to everyones day to day life.
I have noticed, in a few discussions with people over the last few days, that it seems to be mainly the older population who give a fig about the Royal family..and get over the top defensive if anyone dare say otherwise..to the point of being down right rude.
One lady, told me that I was responsible for 'all that is wrong in this country' for not waving a flag.
I do not see what there is to feel patriotic about, England is a shadow of it's former self and all the pretending it's 'like the good old days' flag waving in the world will not change it.
We let in millions of immigrants and in turn we have lost our own culture, lost jobs/houses/healthcare for our own citizens, we treat our OWN people like second class citizens where we cannot openly live our lives as in openly celebrate our religious holidays like christmas for fear of 'upsetting' anyone. We justify this to ourselves by saying that the immigrants do the jobs that English people wouldn't. Bull crap. As the immigration continues to go through the roof...the interest in the royal family will wane big time...
Our elderly people are left to rot and DIE of the cold and hunger - a civilised country having elderly die of the cold. We send our sons to war, and expect CHARITIES to help them when they come home injured. Crime is on the up because people are desperate just to put some food on the table.
People can walk into this country and claim benefits pretty much willy nillly, but my generation has got to work until we are 70 to fund this.
I cannot bring myself to celebrate the birth of a one very privileged child in a country where people are quite literally starving to death or committing suicide because they cannot afford to pay their utility bills. People can call me bitter (as I have seen being bandied about) but I say I am a realist.
England as a country does me no favours..we pay the highest taxes yet get treated like carp.
I do not know how this family have got the actual nerve to life the lifestyle they do when elderly people are left to freeze to death every year.The opposite of what you know...is also true0 -

I live in England, UK, The (Real) World, The Solar system....not in any of the other Nations....The opposite of what you know...is also true0 -

I'm not full of vitriol and contempt...I am nonchalant and blas! because its really not the be all and end all for many many people.
And I don't live my life by the amount of thanks on an Internet forum. But if that's your bag, then by all means...Sanctimonious Veggie. GYO-er. Seed Saver. Get in.0 -
