In my job I do book travel / hotels / stationery orders and some personal stuff via Quidco, so the money builds up.
Also, few people take advantage of the 'free' money-earning clicks on Quidco - in the shopping section you can click on 'price comparison'. Kelkoo, High Street Web and Shopping.com are the 3 I think, and can earn you £0.28 a day which is over £8 a month, plus if your other half has an account they can earn over £8 a month too, from these free clicks.
The rest I earn via normal shopping at Quidco. Pigsback is easy to make money from without spending a penny - see the Freebies board and read up on the Pigsback thread, page 1, to see how to make it work for you...0 -

I do shopping in lots rather than in one load as i dont have a car. this means i can save the price of a taxi home because i cant carry all the shopping.
also, because i have a basket instead of a trolley, (so I know when i reach the weight limit) its easier to keep a mental note of how much has been spent as i add things in, which I tend to round up, its better to be pleasantly surprised than shocked at the checkout.
this also allows you to be selective as you can do asda one day and tesco for the things they do cheaper the next day, but means you have to go to supermarkets more oftenPROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBTSDEBT FREE DATE 29th MAY 2010...... CANT WAIT!!!!0 -
I have been into Sainsburys twice this week and lucky enough to have the scales not working when they weighed my sweet potatoes. On both occasions, I got the potatoes free - that's £2.50ish saved into E-savings acc. Must look out for the dodgy till every time now he he...MFW #185

Ask family and friends to not exchange prezzies at birthdays and Xmas. It saves you getting loads of things you don't want and spending a fortune on things others don't want. You can also email greetings cards.Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)0

Instead of going straight to eBay to search for a bargain, try these spin-off sites instead and cash in on someone's poor spelling!

If this has been suggested previously, I apologise.
However last month I finally invested in a Brita water filter jug. Not a new concept by any means, but one I have been meaning to buy for ages.
I spent £50 on the jug which came with 12 months supply of filters.
Not only does my water taste better (in tea and coffee too), but I drink more and two cartons of fresh orange juice last all week. I have noticed a significant reduction in the weekly food bill and the weight of the bags!

Hi guys,
I've been doing the following for the last few years and its never failed so save me a bob or two.
1. Never do your weekly shop on a Saturday... Supermarkets know thats when most people do it, hence they spend most of Friday night stocking the shelves with the most exspensive items. Shop during the week (I go on a Wednesday) and you'll see that a lot of items soon to expire within the next 24 to 48 hours) are reduced.
2. Check out the 'reduced to clear section'. They don't just sell items that are approacing the use by date... they also sell things that were damaged in transport - (i.e crushed cans, cartons and torn packs).
3. When shopping for clothes always chek your local second hand shop first... Most shops eg oxfam receieve corporate donations. These are bulk donation from high street shops (M&S, Next, etc). Most items are brand new and still have the tags.
This is all for now but I'll put some more up soonLiving with the legacy of bad decisions....but Proud to be dealing with my debts !:j Official DFW Nerd No. 3620
