Great 'ways To Cut Back' Hunt

Ladies, when going to the hairdresser needing your hair cut only go for a wet cut not a cut and blow-dry. Saves me over a tenner now each time.

Use Witch Hazel as a skin toner, cheaper than other normal toners and more natural.

Make sure your washing-machine is full each time you use it. Throw in some towels if only washing a few items.

Use 'Vaseline' as a eye make-up remover, never used anything else as others are expensive and make my eyes sore.

Food shopping after a decent meal really makes a difference, avoid going straight after work before having dinner.

If in a hard water area make cheap bath salts that will soften your bath water too by using 'Borax'. Add two cups to a jar with 20-30 drops of an essential oil of your choice. Do the same the next day using another oil if you wish. Stir with wooden spoon, leave a few hours and then use 2-3 tablespoons in the bath.

Batch cook and freeze as many meals as possible. Curries, casseroles and soups are great for that.

Make your own disinfectant such as this one. Dissolve 20 drops of Tea Tree or Lemon oil in one teaspoon of methylated spirits and mix with 1L of water. Store in pump-action bottle and use in kitchens and bathrooms. Cheap and natural.

Buy as much produce as you can from local markets. Also meat is often cheaper bought from the local Butcher now and less likely to be 'mucked about with' as my Dad puts it!

Wash windows with white vinegar and newspapers.

  • Home wax!

A leg, underarm, bikini wax session can cost a fair wack! I brought a home wax kit for £5 from boots, and have done the whole lot twice for this.

I am a bit of a wimp, so had to get me bf to help me out, which he did.

He also offered to film the lot and sell it to weird !!!!!! sites to make some extra cash, but i declined this kind offer!
  • Fill up with petrol at night when its cold as you get more fuel for your money.
This is because the petrol contracts and becomes more dense.

In the morning when its warmer you have more petrol than you bought the night before.

This is of course relative, as you use more fuel driving in cold conditons for the same reasons.

Always use Redex (an additive you put in your fuel tank) when filling up. Add 20ml to your tank per 10 litres of fuel and you get loads more MPG. It cost around £3.50/250 ml from Morrisons which is pretty much the best non internet buy, but visit https://www.properjob.biz and you can buy 500ml for £4.99, no delivery charge. Enjoy those extra miles!

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.
  • Save money and Cola by using the toilet brush whenever the toilet bowel gets dirty. If you do it before it gets caked on, it takes half a second.

I use soda crystals to clean off grease in the kitchen - it works a treat and is cheaper than kitchen cleaners - more environmentally friendly too.

Mix some soda crystals in with half your normal amount of washing powder next time you wash a load of towels on a hot wash. This will give your washing machine a good cleanout, and you save by using half the powder. Much cheaper than 'Calgon'!
