No, I dont believe it is rubbishPlease forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

Ok, thanks. We are feeding our puppy Naturediet or Forthglade (alternate for different flavour) with Arden Grange dried. He put on just over 1lb between his two injection appointments and is permanently bouncy so I think he's getting everything he needs. His poo has never been runny so I presume that's a good sign LOL!!DMP Mutual Support Thread member 244

Ok,bit of an update on Cody.
That handful yesterday was the last he ate of the Arden, won't even sniff it
So I thought right ,sod this I'm going to stick with the skinners field and trial , and add something healthy and tasty
So today he's had 3 small meals!!!!!!! So relieved
Put some warm water on it but didn't wait for it to be mush,
Then added barely half a sausage well chopped ,
So I've cooked lots of sausages and froze them0 -
From what I've read yes, it's all marketing bull! I've spoken to a number of reuptable breeders aling with some dog trainers and they've all agreed that it's only fairly recently that "puppy" food has been around. These breeds are hundreds of years old, 20 years a go a dog got fed food no different to a puppy, I don't see why it should be different now.
Yes, but dog food only became a business worth investing in during the last few decades! Hence why large companies put a lot of money and research into developing foods to support different life stages. If you have access to the best for your dog I don't understand why you'd deliberately go against that.0 -

I have to say that the puppy food we get is on the lists of "best" foods and are no more expensive than the dog foods in the same class, so I'd rather get the puppy stuff while he's so young and give him those extra nutrients. Who knows, it may make a difference with his development. It's not worth the gamble really, when there's no price difference anyway.DMP Mutual Support Thread member 244

In addition to what they advise on their site, when I put my dog's breed, age and weight into www.whichdogfood.co.uk it also brings up the food that I'm using as the number 1 result so I'm going to stick with it0

Yes I have seen that Eden is the best one to get. It's not sold in any of the places I've been to buy food. I was thinking of buying it online because it's supposed to be the absolute No 1 puppy and dog food.DMP Mutual Support Thread member 244

It's priced well too I feel for how good it apparently is. I think with delivery it was £55 for 15kg. I paid about £45 for 12kg of Hills (vet recommendation) but that caused skin irritations and rashes so I had to change it for him.
He demolishes the whole bowl whereas on hills he wasn't too fussed, he would take it or leave it so I'm guessing that it tasts and smells a lot better too!0
