Sky installed a dish so that we could get Sky FreeSat in Feb 2013. Cost us about £175.

After a day or so we started to have problems getting a signal and now can't get a signal at all.

After getting nowhere with customer services online or by phone and having read a million Sky and independent webpages today we paid an independent aerial guy to have a look at the situation.

He says that all of our equipment works fine but that the dish shouldn't have been made available to us at all as the signal is blocked by some enormous trees on council land and by properties. Our property isn't suitable for Sky as we get virtually no signal at all. Knowing nothing about tv and never having had a dish before we didn't know this would be a problem.

I feel we've been 'done'. How do I get some sort of a refund on this?

I know that there is no MSE Company Rep for Sky on these forums.

So how did you get a signal for the first day, as your post implies?
Tree growth and leaf growth over a period can block a signal, but not overnight!
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • It was installed in Feb.

    True, but...

So it sounds like tree and leaf growth has caused the problem (if it worked on day one). OP needs to clarify.
