Why did you supply parts for a garage to fit, surly the garage would only fit parts they supplied or they would not be able to give any warranty.

You may of been given incorrect parts then instructed the garage to fit them....who would be at fault here? Not the garage I bet.

Would tend to agree with this, when you're talking about parts that are labour-intensive to fit, or can cause a lot of incidental damage.

The amount the garage charges is unlikely to be massively more when they supply their own parts anyway.

I learned this one the hard way several years ago when a cheap clutch part, bought by me on ebay went bang (literally) shortly after being fitted.
  • wich 1.8 we talking about the DCVCP (vvti varient) or the normal 1.8 16v ecotech?

both require slightly different cam kit fitment methods.

It will be the 125bhp one, the VVT was a few years later.

thats what i thought but not into VX cars.

the timing belt fitment is slightly odd, but not way out there like strider says.

slightly odd in my meaning as the idler pully is the last to be fitted goes in this order.

once belt removed, remove idler and tensioner and water pump, fit water pump, fit tensioner, run belt anti clockwise from crank up to cam pully and round. place slack side of belt round tensioner then fit idler pully, set the tesioner to the provided marker arrows and crank 2x revs to check for alignment the same is done on the z20let.
