    From First Direct;

    what browsers can i use to log on to internet banking?

    We recommend that PC users use Internet Explorer (version 6 or higher) or Firefox and that Mac users use Firefox. If you are using other browsers, we recommend that you use our supported browsers to ensure the best experience possible.

    GET IE PLUG IN FOR FIREFOX
    DURRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
    May appear simple ,I have attempted to download that ,but it needs to be linked to an IE and mine is no longer on my PC ,basically what I need to do is download a version of IE for XP professional and use the firefox plug in ,I need instructions ,not every one is a developer.

    If it was no longer on your computer, you would be able to view, "this page cannot be displayed" in ...Internet Explorer". If you are using IE 6.....

    Why not download IE7 from the Microsoft site?; http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/ie/getitnow.mspx

    If you IE was working on your computer... you wouldn't need to install the IE plugin on to Firefox....oh never mind.

    As mention before, it seems that you have only removed the 'short cut' to IE. If you are really concerned that you may have done some damage.

    Go to Add/Remove Programs, choose Internet Explorer and try to remove it. You should get an option to Repair.

    Oh, just noticed. Not sure why you wish to avoid the Microsoft website, other than the fact that you may not wish to validate the product.
    Is this the case?

    There are ways of installing IE7 without validation, for the purpose of a school project or some such, but I'm not sure that you're up to it. ;)

    Try downloading and installing Opera; http://www.opera.com/ Once installed, go to the First Direct website and then go to; Tools, Quick Preferences, Edit Site Preferences and then Network Under Browser Identification choose Identify as Internet Explorer

    Close Opera and open it again and see it it works with First Direct Plus Digital Safe.

    Very clever and I followed your instructions,actually got to the page that required my log in details ,but it would not take me to the next stage ,when I put further security in ,I think that I need IE.

    You didn't say why you didn't wish to download from the Microsoft website.
