Has it been uninstalled or just the shortcut gone?

Click on Start>Run and then type iexplore.exe and see if IE opens.

I 'll tell you how easy it is TOO loose it. I always double left clic on the internet Explorer icon to start off. But my son says clic once and hit th return key. But several times lately when I've done that, I've allowed my finger to move slightly to the right and hit DELETE. Up comes a box asking if I want to send Int/Ex to the bin !!!!!!
You only need not to be paying attention and whoops it's gone.

But that's not getting rid of IE. That's only deleting the shortcut. The application hasn't been uninstalled. It's easy enough to still load or create as many shortcuts and put them in as many places as you want.

I have also done a restore system to the 1st June all to no avail.

    try this as a test
find a webpage u may of saved on your PC - any file with a suffix of .htm or .html
then right click on that file, select Open With
do u see Internet Explorer there as an option?

If u dont have a file, just save one from firefox or create a textfile and call it fred.html or something.

Also u can open up windows explorer, go to Tools/Folder Options then select File Types tab, scroll down to HTM and see what the associated open command is

Personally, I'd check in the add/remove programs. Under the add/remove windows components tab see whether it says it's installed or not. If not you should be able to install it from there (if you have your windows disc) by ticking it for installation.

''this page cannot be displayed,'' Ermmm...Are you reading that on Firefox or Internet Explorer?

Is it just that you cannot connect to the inter via IE? IE6 or IE7?

So, you haven't lost IE at all, just connectivity.

You should re-name your thread if you wish to attract help.
