I think "gallery"="folders with images on SD card".
If so, you can't delete from gallery without deleting from the card.
I think you can move some folders to the phone memory, but what's the point?

What do you want to achieve actually?

    I'm with grumbler on this.

As far as I am aware, gallery is where your photos reside and that is the feature you use to look at them. Why are you trying to delete them from being viewed in gallery when that is the only way to view them?

Not quite so. You can use, say, File Manager to see photos. Gallery is just the place where 'shortcuts' to all folders with pictures are kept together, but I don't think that it's possible to delete a 'shortcut'.

The "Gallery" itself is an application, and it will scan the whole user area of the phone by default and display whatever pictures are found in whatever folders.

To hide pictures from the Gallery, simply create a new file, call it .nomedia, and place it in the folder that contains the pictures you want to keep hidden.

You will need to reboot the phone for the changes to take effect.

thanks for all your replies- what im "trying to achieve" is that i have some private pictures that i want to keep but would rather them not be seen to anyone who would look through my gallery:)

Go onto the Google store and do a search for "private picture folder"
There are lots of apps that will do what you want.
