Hey all
ok so basically i have about 2 weeks left until my PAC code runs out so am looking at getting my new phone and contract set up before that point.
now currently i am rocking a trusty Nokia N8 on ornage and use around 250 mins, 100 texts and 350mb of internet and up until this month has only set me back about £12, this month it was £24 because my loyalty discounts have expired.
as it currently stands i only really get decent signal in my house on Orange T mobile or 3, vodafone and O2 are both very weak although i have read up on O2'2 tugo and voda's suresignal box and they would both be acceaptable if they worked all the time
my phone is used for the basics at the moment of calls texts email, music and a lot of photos, so my main feature is looking to be the camera
now i have been looking around and the 'deals' i have seen that stick out are the
sony xperia t on 3, 500 mins unlimited text and unlimited data for £21 a month
Galaxy S4 Zoom on T mobile 300 mins unlimited text and 1gb data for £26
there is also the odd scattering of S3 deals at £24ish a month with 300 mins unlimited text and 500mb of data, and the nokia lumia 920 for £26 ish with simular, which in comparison to the above doesnt feel like a good enough deal for me, as yes the S3 is better than the xperia in most things but it feels like the allowence is restrictive in comparison especially for more money, and the 920 just seems expensive in comparison to the zoom
anyways to the point of the thread, just wondering if any of you have some other ideas on which phones to look at and if you know of any deals that i might have missed

on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)

S4 zoom seems quite bulky...
Nokia top end one should be 925, not 920. sony top end should be xperia z.
Also, you can have a look on HTC one as well. I like the look of it.
Alternatively, if you get the cash, S3 is ~£290 + three Essential Internet SIM 600 12 months £10 a month.0 -
thanks Cisco, however probably should have put, that i am trying to keep costs down (shock horror) and £26 a month is going to be realistically my absolute top end budget so have been looking outside the top end phones because most of them seem to command a £30+ a month tarrif to get them free, as for buying outright, would love too but just done have the upfront funds at the moment (just got a new Neice and the Mrs has decided to spoil her = me now have no money)
anyways considering most of the last year top phones are still more than good enough for all my usage - although anything below that seems to struggle camera wise against my N8 which is a pain in the arris saying the N8 is a 3 year old phone - hence looking at the xperia T and the S3 - the S4 zoom only came into the picture (excuse the pun) because of the optical zoom functions and at £26 a month seems really cheap for a new phoneDrop a brand challenge

A 12 month sim only deal from t-mobile will give you 250/500/500MB for £8 per month which would cover your usage, so you should evaluate the cost of a contract phone against that.
Taking your Xperia T deal at £21/month you're then effectively paying £312 over 2 years for the phone. You can buy the Xperia T sim free on Amazon for £260 and probably less than that on Ebay.
You might be able to find a good deal on the previous Xperia S model which has a comparable camera to the Nokia 920 and S3.
If you fancy a bargain the orange ebay outlet has the HTC Windows Phone 8X on PAYG for £160 including £20 credit and a bluetooth speaker. I don't know if the camera will meet your needs but there's a specialist review here:

If you look at the spec of S4 zoom, it just has dual core CPU... I don't think it is as fast as the proper s4

I don't see the point of that if you don't take photo a lot.
If you want to spend less than £26. S3 seems the way to go.
BTW, S3 on three at CPW is £23. And S3 LTE on EE at CPW is £26
Edit: Have a look at sony SP if you want sony0 -
I bought a Nexus4 from Google for £269 (IIRC) and now pay £7 per month on Dolphin7 sim only.
If you put that over two years its £18.200 -
I pay £26 a month on T-Mobile for Unlimited texts, 500 mins and unlimited internet with an Xperia Z.... I'm sure the offer is still availableCurrently in a Trust Deed 30 payments until DEBT FREE - February 20270
