Galaxy s2 water damage, repair of replace?

Hi all

I dropped my phone in water for about 5 seconds (the time spent for my brain to work out yes thats your phone in the sink!) and it shutdown

not thinking logically i took it apart, dabbed it dry, not working battery very hot. Left it on the window sill for a day, same thing

Looked on google then, so now its in rice!! it will turn on but there is no display

Should I try to get it repaired? i have no insurance so it would be at my cost, or just forget it and get another phone?

thanks for any advise

May be take it to shop and ask for how much for repair?

Or buy a waterproof phone next time...

No harm in getting a quote for repair before deciding what to do.

You could always get the new S4 Active instead ;)

Could I not pay up my contact then upgrade? Is so would I only pay until my upgrade date?

Worth considering a water absorption pack.. way cheaper than insurance excess or sending the device off for repairs etc. I've used one called Rescuetec in the past with good success, there are plenty of options out there though! good luck.
