    I totally agree and would bet money on that is what this was.

    I didn't realise it at the time, but my OH did similar things a good 3 or 4 times before actually proposing.

    It is a good sign, as he is visualising a future for you both, but he is not quite there yet.

    I'd tell him that she said she will do your hair as soon as you've shown her the ring but as there's no ring you cant take him seriously!

    OP hasn't been back for 3 days so either it wasn't a proposal, or he knocked her on the head with a frying pan to knock some sense into her after she asked him.
