Advice needed on possible benefit loss

Hi everyone, new to this forum and looking for some answers I cannot find anywhere else.
My boyfriend and I are thinking about moving in together.
The problem is that I work full time (earning 35k) but he is self employed and claiming Work Tax Credit, receiving full housing benefits as well as Council Tax exemption.
What I would like to know is would he lose all his benefits if we were to move in together? Would I then be entitled to housing benefits myself to help pay for a higher rent?
Is there anyone out there who is / has been in a similar situation and can advise me?
Any help greatly appreciated

The below link contains a benefit calculator that will tell exactly what benefits you could claim if any.

I think the short answer is yes he will lose all his benefits as you are earning £35k.0

Thanks for replying so quickly :-)
have already tried the benefit calculator but that doesn't really answer my question as to whether my partner would lose his benefits, maybe I should try the Citizen Advice Bureau?0 -
That is what I thought Crellow4, but what about me possibly getting extra support such as housing benefits?0

For the calculator you have to pretend you are already living together and so put him as a partner and state his earnings.0 -

You wont be able to claim housing benefit on such a high wage.0 -
I never normally say this but I don't trust that this thread or the op is for real.Life is short, smile while you still have teeth

Put it this way. Me and my husband earn £14,000 a year between us and we have 2 dependants and we are only entitled to £4 a week housing benefit. Whoo hoo!0

Can I ask why you are saying this?0 -

Why would you expect to claim benefits when you're earning so much?0
