Do you have money in savings for the extras such as furniture, connection charges etc?

In theory there should be no problems with the rent and your take home pay. If you have savings and you are careful with your money then good luck :)
  • You also need to remember to factor in the tv licence fee if need be and your water rates.

I tried typing in falkirk council but it doesn't show any results.
Is house insurance a mandatory cost?

Like can i choose to not pay it?

the tv licence isn't that bad for our area especially between 2 people but thanks for the heads up :D

TV licences cost the same in every area.

Contents insurance is optional, it depends on whether or not you can afford to replace all your belongings if you are burgled, the flat is flooded, there is a fire etc.

So looking on the internet Band B council tax is £832.22 a year, this means your water rates will be £306.11 a year unless the property has a water meter in which case it will clearly vary depending on how much you use.

No, your belongings are your responsibility.
