where to buy a scrapbook?!

Hi all you wonderfully crafty peeps!

I've always been crafty, sewing and card making mostly, but I've never done a 'proper' scrapbook. So I'm hoping you can point me in the right direction!

We've just found out we are expecting our first little one (still very very early days so no-one knows yet except the MSE community now so shhhh hehe!) and I would love to do a scrap book for them.

I'm going to write little notes and tuck them in envelopes, get pics of bf when he was a baby and child, and same for me, to make some 'mum and dad' pages and then fill it with lots of little things, images, Notes etc through the pregnancy and beyond.

I have written a little note today - which I will rewrite on to nicer paper later haha, but I have no idea where to get a nice 12x12 scrap book that I can keep adding pages to.

Any ideas/help would be much appreciated!

That sounds like it will be lovely!

My dd scrapbooks and has been through a few of the kids sets, so started buying just a big book and decorating.
Her last one was from the works and is A4 size (they do smaller and bigger sizes)with nice thick pages. It was plain blue but she decorated the front to pretty it up! I can't remember the cost but its definitely worth looking in there if you have one?
Your probably aware that you can get baby ones, with the front cover decorated but they can be expensive. Much more fun and cheaper to do it yourself!

Other than that look in shops for artists, sketch books usually fit the bill, again with you decorating the cover yourself

Thanks you carlamarie It still isn't quite sinking in for me yet! Bf has cp so we need to get a docs appt as soon as possible to make sure we do everything right (he's paranoid so want's everything done as by the book as possible!)

I didn't even think about the Works, I think we have one in the shopping centre in town so will try there on my lunch tomorrow :-)

Congratulations! TK Maxx sometimes have basic 12 x 12 scrapbooks for sale at reasonable prices so have a look at your local one )if you have one). However don't take it for granted that everything crafty there is cheaper. Hobbycraft is another place to look or scout around online.
Most scrapbooks come with 10 page protectors for 20 layouts but you can buy extra to add to the book.

Hobbycraft probably has the best selection but they would almost certainly be the most expensive.

I second the TK Maxx suggestion. I find them in WHSmiths too and they are often in the sale.

I would add if you see one you like in a store, make a note of the brand/name and check the price online.
