With all respect and everything, and I'm sure it's still a lovely car, but I bet it doesn't.0 -
I've a 2004 320d - with the M47 engine.
120K and sweet as a nut.
EGR by-passed and swirl-flaps blanked.
43mpg
No thumps, rattles or squeaks.
Everything works as it should.
The only non-service item I've needed has been a £120 low-pressure fuel pump.
I consider this normal.
I'm on the look out for a newer one.
I usually buy a 2 year old, with under 30K miles and keep it for another 6 years.0 -
As a previous poster said the cars done 45k a year, been well maintained throughout, and in the next 3 years you will only use it for dog journeys and therefore probably only add 15k to the miles but double the age.
For you its a good buy.
I used to routinely see taxi cars, mainly ford and skoda diesels that had done 500,000 miles plus and were still going strong.
High mileage drivers tend to be guys in their 30s to 50s who are past their boy racer car thrashing days. A 45k a year driver values his license and he isnt paying for servicing so is more likely to have it all done when its needed.0
