  • There might be a number of reasons as some have picked up on (I'm a band 6 nurse). When did she start these two jobs - was it at the same time? Or was one before the other as newly qualified nurses skipped the first two points in 6 monthly stages rather than annually. If she started one job after the other then she wouldn't be classed as NQ (even if only a week qualified!). Her other job will catch up soon I presume and that will her be stuck at top band 5 on both jobs with only cost of living increases each April.

    Just for clarity, the bands range from 1 to 9 (not 8d as someone said above) with overlaps, i.e. a top band 5 is the same as point 3 of band 6.
