    Afternoon All,

Someone has stole our sun! :D

We have been spoiled with this extended run of beautiful weather, some showers are expected Tuesday to Thursday, which is needed for the plants etc.

Nothing much planned today, just going to watch the last round of the golf and it looks like a close finish.

Have a lovely day everyone.

    Afternoon all,

A lovely cool day here, 'Youngest' has gone out for the day and hubby is down the garden rebuilding an engine.

Hubby is cooking another Chinese curry tonight. I cooked and prepared the rice last night and as I can never seem to gauge the quantity correctly I made egg fried rice for breakfast this morning with the excess (with a quantity of bacon and sausage thrown in for good measure).

I am toying with the idea of changing my utility supplier after noticing they increased my direct debit 2 months ago without telling me. Eon shame on you! I don't think they are as competitive now they have changed the new tariffs either.

Hubby is also considering changing banks. His Lloyds account is now one of those accounts that are being transferred to TSB and the nearest TSB to our caravan is miles away. He's not impressed. I'll be moving too if I cant use the Post Office to draw cash out.

Waterworld, ive watched the film once and am in no rush to repeat the experience.

    Welcome back Beemuzed :)

    Have a great day all.

    Hi everybody,

Much cooler today and cloudy. We went up to our friends last night for antipasto and pizza and quite a wind got up.They'd lit a chimenea outside and we kept getting a face full of smoke :(,couldnt wait to wash my hair this morning :D.It was a nice change though.

We have decided to go out for tea with DS2 and Dil2b.I went to do the shopping at Mr s and all the fridges and some of the freezers had packed up in the heat so there wasnt any stuff out to buy .We'll go down the road to our little Italian restaurant, they do a good deal on Sunday afternoons.DH and DS2 are putting a dining table into their storage place after they won the bid on the bay of e.Their house still has messy jobs going on yet so it can't go there till thats done.
Os ,well I made a Victoria sponge, and thats about it ;)and omelettes for lunch as we have a lot.

Beemuzed- nice to see you and am glad Dh is much better, but am so sorry to hear that you are unwell.I wish you a speedy recovery and my best wishes (((hugs)))

Might have a little snooze before we go out ;) the others are out so I might get chance.Enjoy the rest of the weekend folks x

    Hi all,

Jackie O - I love that you love the IOW, we,re very spoilt here, and sometimes don,t appreciate what we have - when the kids were younger one activity they loved was getting a 'Rover ticket' for the day and just bus,ing around the Island, stopping wherever took our fancy, armed with a picnic and a few quid for icecream if they were good - hope you have a great time.

Today, we had a lazy start, then around 1030 met some friends and pootled down the river on their boat, took a couple of hours ending in a little drink at a riverside pub, very tempted to have lunch out, but with our OS head on, came home and had HG tomato and cucumber salad, with evoo and lemon juice, and calamari with lemon juice for lunch, was lovely...:D

Off prawning tomorrow after work, tides are just right and fresh prawns scooped up yourself can,t be beaten..:T

BBQ tonight, HP chicken thighs with colslaw and HM bread - loving this weather....

Have a fab day all x

    Afternoon all,

Bit of a busy day so first chance to post. My DD and DGS along with two younger sons and gf came for lunch. Didn't fancy a big roast so I made a curry and rice with naans and then Victoria sponge with fresh strawberries for dessert.
It's a bit cooler and overcast here so a nice change, I'm hopin g it lasts and I sleep better tonight.
Just tidies round after everyone has left and picked most of the peas out of the garden, they are shelled and ready to go in bags in the freezer.
Coming to the end of the strawberries now buy they have been wonderful this year.
Crashed out watching the final round of the open now. Dh and oldest son in Australia spend the whole of this last round messaging each other and commenting on the game ( both golf mad) my son in Australia will stay up until about 2 in the morning unless there is a play off and then its even later:eek:
Have a couple of eBay sales to post tomorrow and a chap came to collect something about lunch time.
Hoping to do lots of listing this week.
Anyway maybe time for a little snooze, have a good day xx

    Afternoon all,

JackieO you're holiday sounds like the perfect dream for myself and bf!

Judi my Lloyd's account is being moved over to the 'new' bank too, wasn't impressed and I've been looking for a reason to leave them for a while so I opened an account with Halifax - got £100 for switching and it's a reward account so will get the £5 'reward' each month due to wages and my current direct debits.

I've had a bit of a treat today. Bf needed to get my birthday card and we needed a couple of other bits from town so in we went, picked the few bits up, had a bit of a mooch round a street market that's on today only and bf treated me to breakfast in the cafe in Debenhams. Simple pleasures make me very happy.

Lots of little things going on here that we can't share/move forward with just yet so bf is getting bored quickly!

Pizza for tea tonight as we need to get the freezer emptied.

Nothing else much done today, feel like I've had a 'proper' day off for a change!

Hi Chums just about to go to youngest Dds.I have been doing some paperwork this afternoon online to get up to date with stuff as its getting near to the end of the month.Eldest dd arrived bearing a gift of a box of chocolates for me and she had been to the loacl Family bargains place and saw huge bottles of Fairy washing up liquid at £1.49 each so bought one for me,herself and her ma-in-law.They are enormous and will last me for ages :):) (I only wash up once a day at the least as I am metered on the water so wait until I have enough for a bowlful)Bless her she is off to Greece on Tuesday and is fretting in case I get called in for my op.I told her its not going to happen before my holiday and she will be back before then, so put her mind at rest.
we had a good natter and two potfuls of coffee.
I had a relaxing afternoon reading the back of my eyelids :):)caught up on some missed sleep. Now I am off to see the boys and have dinner at youngest DDs house I shall be back in time for The White Queen which I love.
re the holidays I too like to mooch around the shops in Newport but prefer to do it at my pace so when the boys andDd and son-in-law go off to Blackgang for the day I do my mooching.
I also like to go to Cowes and wander around the High Street as it takes me back years to when we would go there with my late ma-in-law .She lived in Northwood and the family all lived around that area.no one left on the Island now sadly but I do enjoy just having a walk and a sit on the front with my memories and thoughts.
right time I got a wriggle on as the boys will wonder where I am
cheers chums have a great evening the sun has arrived at last and its looking very nice out there
    JackieO xx

Beemuzed - so sorry to hear of your poor health. Hope you get well soon but very pleased for your husband xx
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

    Good. Evening all

    Lovely cool day today.
Just right for testing mattress's and beds at our local store it would have been a help if my OH was a bit more enthusiastic :D

Just had evening meal and am just contemplating a walk as it has now turned out brighter.

I am loving the footage of the new Dutch Royal family they look
    Very happy .

Weather report I am watching gives me a boost it looks like my water butt will be full tomorrow but will no doubt be empty before the end of the week.
