No spends to report. Made a gorgeous chicken and mushroom pie with veg, potatoes and homemade gravy for dinner - was very tasty :)

Spent £24 on dog food - £12 to be taken from this month's budget (will deduct £12 from next month's too). We bought four bags each of which will last a month so that's handy to have that off my mind for a couple of months.

Also spent £1.65 on something bf wanted so £13.65 to add to sign - will pop off and do that now :-)

£1.70 spent in home base on 2 bottles of domestos spray on offer. We have been in all weekend decorating and have eaten all the bread. I am covered in blue paint and look like a smurf;)

I am also running low on milk due to using up some gingerbread porridge that DH bought me. It is GF and ridiculously expensive but very nice. I think if I added some ginger and sultanas to normal porridge I could get a similar effect.

Coq au vin for tea tonight. I used onions instead of shallots and frozen rather than fresh mushrooms and a small carton of value red wine and it didn't have quite the same richness if flavour as usual:(. It could have been the wine, I had a swig of the little bit that was left in the mini carton and It was sweetish and not very nice.

I am planning shepherds pie and apple crumble (using up some miserable looking eating apples) for tomorrow nights tea.

I have a mini challenge this month on top of the GC which is to not throw a single thing out food wise. I am doing ok so far :)
    Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
    Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
    Make £2021 extra income - £99.75

NSD for me yesterday. Yay! Will need to get a few bits today and will got to ald* as need full fat milk for 2 yr old, bread, tortilla wraps (the garlic ones in Ald* for 79p a pack are divine and keep very well), juice, bananas and baked beans.
While in town will also drop off couple of bits I have sold on FB for sale pages, which should then pay for the shopping. :)
Miserable weather today. Hope you are all on track and keeping well.

I'd be interested to know how everyone meal plans. Do you use a diary (and if so which kind - daft question I know but when I've considered meal planning in diaries, I like the option to be able to see the whole week in front of me but then there isn't the room you get on a diary that has a day per page!) or is it a notebook/scrap of paper that works for you?

I am a boring old fashioned person- i use a pad of paper. When i am organized (having a few weeks off at the mo! :D) i make sure i have 2 veggie meals, 1 fish meal, 2 meat meals, 1 mince meal and 1 'quick and easy' meal per week.
