15 mins does not seem long to cook a sponge mixture.

No you are right I always have to leave it in longer, but I do with everything as my cooker is pants. It does say 15mins on the original recipe. Maybe I should have amended to read cook until done!

I have been googling about doing them in slow cooker as K9sandFelines mentioned, just need to get some small bowls to try it.

As I get my pension every 4 weeks - my GC weeks were not coinciding with the month's challenges on here. So to get me back in line - I am having 2 GCs in September - see I have already finished one. Then I will go onto the October GC.
So I am declaring my first September GC at £56.75. I was helped by a £10 Sainsbugs voucher - courtesy of Mr F - surveys + £4.50 Mr T club card reward coupon.
Still renovating here - decorator busy painting a ceiling right now. So any GC money I can save is SO useful for my renovation fund.

i am pondering veg boxes at the moment...we got one from a local farm last week and it was great but expensive so have decided to go to aldi next week for veg as the super 6 look quite good for us...would rather support the farm but its a cold hard cash thing....also found a fab green grocer that i got x3 carrier bags full from yesterday for £6 so shall visit there again

i got and used first sprouts yesterday...lush shall be getting some more....we are having gammon for our tea tonight and i think fajitas tomorrow

its funny how i think i have purchased a lot of shopping and the next day or even the same day i realise i need something....what a pain

I get my money weekly so was wondering the same, how to account for a monthly spend? Think I will just work in 4 week periods which are roughly within the months.

I have been spending a bit - but not too much - £9.55 in Waitrose - need to keep away from that shop, it was mainly treats! £3.16 for 2 tubs of lovely greek yogurt from lidl and £22.35 in Aldi, mainly greengrocery plus a free range chicken, milk, cream and cheese. Total this week so far is £35.06 and total this month so far is £78.71. Just under the £8 a day we are aiming for. However, most meat has come from the freezer so far, and I do need to buy dog food and treats shortly. We are eating plums and courgettes from the garden - and I have now frozen 10lb plums as well as making jam and chutney

can i ask what shopitize app is please?

There is a thread on the Grabbit board dedicated to grocery cashback:
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=4458419

It's worth noting you need to pay for items and then make a claim. I use Shopitize (£5 minimum to withdraw), mySuperList, Quidco ClickSnap and Topcashbacks Snap and Save. The first two require smartphones and an app download, but others you can upload receipts via your computer.

Hello.. just popping in to say hi! I've decided to add my credit cards to my signature.. wedding and house move costs... so I can see where my GC savings are going.

I made lovely chick + sweetcorn soup last night with leftover chick + stock from sunday roast.. tin of value sweetcorn and egg whites.. egg yolks were used in a custard tart with aldi super 6 figs and pears on it. LUSH. The presentation was a bit errm "rustic" I think is the term, but delicious and MSE as it meant cooking with stuff I had in. Hope you are all having a lovely week so far X
