Declaring for September at 40.00, my lowest
this year. This is down to using my local shop for reduced items. On Saturday I got
lettuce, tomatos, mushrooms, cucumber and celery all at 25p pack. On Sunday apples. oranges and corn on the cob at 30p pack. Total 1.85.
Am hoping to do the same for October and November and run the freezers down.Slimming World at target0 -
I know you can freeze bread (I got some cheap YS yesterday) but is it best to freeze in portions? Like 2 slices in a freezer bag to go straight in the toaster?
It made sense to me but I shan't bother if it's pointless hahaI'm C, Mummy to DS 29/11/2010 and DD 02/11/2013

We buy pre sliced bread. I put the loaf in the freezer as is, but make sure it's not squashed as this makes slices hard to separate!GC Sept '13: £249.05/£250, NSDs: 9/7!! :j

Help
Doing a big shop today for the week and completely forget DS is going to church on Sunday with the beavers for harvest festival. I need to get some stuff for him to take (think it will all be going to the local food bank). Any ideas how much people normally spend for this and what sort of stuff I can buy? Thanks0 -

We just always used to take any old cans of things that weren't going to get used

Bless, I am only feeding me and I am very lucky in getting reduced stuff. I also
have very good stocks in as I buy on offer. For instance I only like Kenco Rapport coffee, there was a half price offer some months ago and I bought 10
300g jars. Coffee for the year.I only buy cheese when half price and freeze it. Tinned tomatos and beans stocked up when 4 for 1.00. I make my own bread, yogurt and pasta.
I find its much easier to be frugal when you only have to cater for yourself, theres no family to nag for crisps and biscuits etc, all those extra bits add up. and if I only fancy beans on toast for dinner, thats what I have, lol wouldnt have got away with that with the family.Slimming World at target0 -

If you google food banks theres usually a list of the kind of things to send.
Sorry have no idea what people normally spend on this. My contribution to my local harvest festival consisted of 10 tins mushy peas, 4p offer, 4 tins beans 1.oo,
4 tins tomatos 1.00. So 2.40 for me.Slimming World at target0
