3 Mobile & there lying staff

I have a 3 mobile sim only contract which I've had for a while paid my bills via direct debit on time every month.

I work as a web designer from home and were I live has horrible Internet less than 1 Meg so I pay 3 mobile an extra £5 per month to teether my iPhone to my pc to get to the Internet that way which is a fair bit quicker.

The problem I have had is 3 recently called me as I went over my allowance and offered me a better deal which included my tethering for not much more that what I was paying and I was told it wouldn't come active and nothing would change into the 28th of the month this happened on the 19th of June, anyways as I was told nothing was changed I said yea and went ahead with the call time upgrade but what they kept quiet was the fact they would have to cancel my add ons and this included my teethering so I had no Internet access at all for 8 days and was unable to do my job, during this time I lost around £640, what I would like to know is would I be able to invoice 3 mobile for lose of earnings they have admired there sales person had made a mistake and lied.

Thanks in advance

Considering this must be a business account (I presume it must be a business account if you are trying to claim loss of earnings?) a lot of consumer protection doesn't apply.

Have you spoken to your business manager at Three?

As above, if you have a business account with them you may get something for loss of service.

If, on the other hand, you're using a domestic acc, then you've no chance at all.
  • I phoned to cancel my mobile phone account with 3 on June 13th, all agreed. A week later they sent me an upgraded phone when I phoned to ask why, I was told on the 18th June I had called and requested an upgrade. After 4 more phone calls each lasting a minimum of 30 mins, on average speaking to 4 different people at their call center in India, it was decided to pass the case to their Fraud team again in India. The fraud team told me they didn't have a recording of the phone call, but I had obviously allowed somebody my details and they had called on my behalf. The next time I called to see what was happening they wouldn't speak to me as it was under investigation, but they did send me a package to return the phone, I was so fed up with them I just gave up. Today I received another bill for the same contract but I had apparently asked for more free text messages which was an additional £12 per month. When I called to complain I asked to speak to a supervisor who has supposedly sorted it out, he also played me the phone message when I was alleged to have ordered the upgrade, the voice is of a foreign young woman who gives my date of birth and correct postcode. I am now exceedingly concern about 3 data security, has anyone else had a similar problem?

^ Nothing to do with this thread.

    Also, try paragraphing.

    And stop creating new accounts.

I would be concerned how many "competitions" you have entered giving your date of birth and address, or pretty much any other website that asks for these details. Not hard to pretend to be someone.
However 3 security is a bit poor if that is all that's required.

Crunchyorange - no you cannot invoice 3UK for anything, not if you expect a payment. A look at the Three App will give you real-time info on use, bolt-ons, and packages and will be managed easily online. You appear to have switched tariffs, so all bolt-ons drop off with the change. You could just as easily complain they kept the bolt ons running without your knowledge when you didn't want/require them!

In the end, it is up to you to ensure you know what your purchase covers - so your claim of consequential loss should be dealt with by your business surer if you have one.
  • Hi yes business account,

Also been sorted now they have given me £280 credit to my account.

    Thanks for the help
  • Also Buzby I'm well aware of the 3 app and the add on was still showing.
