Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend - haven't been posting much lately but have been reading.
Enjoy this sunshine and keep applying the sun cream. I'm another fair skinned one but have been fine with A$da factor 30 (orange bottle). I used it in Madrid in June and was fine. Not too expensive and lasts well.
Salad of some sort for tea. V hot so can't be bothered much with cooking and eating.
The grass in the park out the window is all scorched - have to keep reminding myself that yes, this is Scotland!
Off to put some squash in the fridge so it's nice and cold.

Afternoon All,
Have just had to eat a massive slice of humble pie. My wife said to me we missed something last night. It was a very good friend's 50th birthday. She and her friend were two of my best companions through my divorce. I had completely forgotten about the party.
I telephoned and threw myself on her mercy. I was very honest and she forgave me. Actually she thought there was something wrong with us, as I had helped her a month or so ago, in organizing the venue and advising regarding food. At least she had about 100 guests so our absence might not have been just as noticeable.
Enjoying the golf, as the course is very challenging. So Julie move up on the sofa and get the cold beers out!
Another beautiful day here. Can't remember such a long spell of fantastic weather. Showers are forecast for midweek, which I'm sure the plants and ground will be glad of.
Have a good day everyone. :beer:0 -
Afternoon all
Up and out early to the suspermarket this morning. Bed stripped and bedding out on the line. OH has had an early lunch and gone for a siesta as he slept really badly last night. I am catching up on here for a bit and then will load the dishwasher with the lunch things and then practise my meditation. I am trying to do it when OH is otherwise occupied now he is redundant/retired. This is the end of the third week of having OH home 24/7.............
We sold our second car yesterday as we can't afford and don't need to run two cars now. I was a little bit sad when my car went, but it was getting older and about to become quite expensive in repairs.
Hugs and kind thoughts to all who need them and have a nice afternoon.

Hi guys
We went out early. OH pushed me round Tesco and we got dad his bits of food that he wanted. Saw him early.
OH is now down the garage doing "man things":rotfl:
I am exhausted. Did too much yesterday annd today. Shoukd know better. Neighbours are driving me mad again.
I have had 15 years of peace, and now a young couple with a two year old have moved in. They wind him up all the time and he screams non stop. Every night this week they have had a barbecue and sent the ash and smoke over into my sitting room, despite me asking them to move it.
Maybe I'm just turning into a grumpy old woman:rotfl:
Anyway, going to read the paper, that'll take the rest of the day!I Believe in saving money!!!:T

Morning all!
I was up early decorating with balloons and banners, today is DS's 18th birthday, where have the years gone????
He has now decide to go out with his friends to bowl, play pool etc, so we are currently waiting for the relatives to descend. Tonight will be sitting here waiting to see if he's reasonably sober when he rolls in!
Have a good day all, and stay safe in the sun!
Happy Birthday to your son Jools:T:T:T
My daughter is 21 today and I managed to surprise her with her birthday gifts - not easy as she peeks:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
She is off to University (finally) as she has struggled with dyslexia but she persevered with study and has now made the grade. Im so proud of her xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -

I'm sure she knows this Molly but make sure your daughter goes to Student Services/ Support at uni - they will help make sure she has the support for dyslexia. She will also be eligible to apply for DSA and may get software etc to help with her studies. Also, I know we got an email about Text Help's new upgrade with a 30 day trial period - maybe that's just for business though. There are some fab functions on Text Help for all students, not just those with dyslexia. You must be very proud of her:).
Big birthday cakes and :beer:to your DD and to Jools DS for their special birthdays.

Afternoon everyone,
Happy birthday to Molly's DD and Jools' DS.
Hugs for LW, Molly and Hilstep.
Elona I would like the link to Hester's new blog as well please.
Been a tough week supporting DD1 but she has been great with her friend and I am really proud of her.
DD1 and DD2 have gone to a music festival for the day, they will be exhausted tonight.
DD2 has gone with her friend's long suffering dad who has voluntarily taken four 13 year old girls with him, the man is a saint!
DS out baby sitting tonight so OH and I are off out for a quick bite before I have to fetch DD1 and her friends.
Enjoy the rest of the day everyone.:)0 -
Afternoon all,
I'm a bit late late posting. Things aren't that good at home. Just arguments between me and hubby. I don't take kindly to my son being told he's as 'thick as his Mum' just because he didn't know his bank account number. Hence i'm in major sulk mode.:D
Since I the dinner I cooked him got chucked in the bin he can cook his own tea tonight. Sulking is so childish but I cant bear to speak to him let alone look at him.
He's paid his loan off today. Maybe this year he can pay for Christmas instead of it falling on me for the last 5 years.
Roll on Monday!
