Good Morning all I am up with the birds this morning as I gave up trying to sleep and decided that I would get my ironing done instead before it got too hot. Then I can sit down and relax and do nowt for the rest of the day.My son-in-law is coming this morning to put my new table together for me bless him.I may make a veggie curry today as I have some veg that could do with using up.Apart from that I shall be indoors with the fan on and a large jug of iced water to keep me hydrated.I love the sun but it doesn't like me very much I am very fairskinned and just get hot uncomfortable and my skin blisters very easily so its not wise to sit out in it when its this warm I sit in the shade and drink lots of tea or water and read my book .NSD today as I am eking out what I have as much as I can as its only three weeks until we go on holiday so I'll use up more stuff from the indoor stocks rather than trailing round the shops in the heat
Hope everyone has a good week end Cheers chums

:wave:Where is everybody this morning? Hello JackieO

Going to have a lovely day on the M6. Birmingham to Glasgow and back. We 're doing it all today so we don't have to take the dog - not fair in this heat with all that Ozzie fur.

    See you all tomorrow.

    Morning all:j:j

    Warm here this morning,
Its set to be another very hot and sunny day.

Well Iv not long woke up,
Iv been woke up by the egg song off the hen;s. And they were making a right old noise too.

I do have some good news on the chicken front.
One of the four brown hybrid chicks that I had this year off the twins school has layed there first egg:j:j So well done to her :j:j It also looks like another of them will be starting to lay soon as her comb ifs now fully formed and starting to redden up,

Got no plans for today, But I do know that we have to get some shopping In. So I', thinking we may very well end up somewhere to do that.

We are still waiting for our new tax credits award to come. Hoping it will hurry up!!

No meal plans for today as yet. But with this heat non of us are really eating a lot,

The twins had there school report sent home with them yesterday,
And they both have done great over the last 12 months and have had very good reports :T:T so well done to them:T:T

Well I hope you all have a great day,

Enjoy the summer, You never know when it will end in this country:D:D

    Enjoy :j:j
:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j

Morning JackieO and all who follow,

Much cooler start to today - thank heavens!

JackieO I am much like you but am yet to burn this year which is unusual as I have spent much more time than usual in the sun. Bf burnt yesterday with factor 50 on though - not sure why the sun hasn't caught up with me yet...I never tan usually burn and fade to a shade about 0.5 of a colour deeper than my natural 'whiter than milk'...which leaves at about 'milk' on the skin colour rating :-P

Visiting my parents this morning...they are still in bed but brother is up. It's my birthday this week so as long as they get up before I leave at 12.30 so we can plan if we want to do anything it's OK. Bf's parents gave me my card and present yesterday as the ice cream parlour visit was a treat for bf's dad and me. I got some new pjs (finally! Hardly any of mine fit now) and a keyring that says keep calm and buy handbags hehe.

As our fridge is on it's way out we have now picked a new one - an American style one with more space in both sides plus an ice and water dispenser. This will allow me to shop monthly - I can't do this now as we have so little freezer and fridge space. Especially as 'proper' supermarkets are so far from us - I like Iceland etc but don't find they stock much of what we eat most so I end up shopping more frequently and chucking in more just because items grr. As we want the new fridge we have to run our old fridge freezer down. Shouldn't be too hard , I'll just have some random concoctions whilst bf is away haha.

When I get home this afternoon I have a small load of whites to get washed and out to dry and a big pile of clean washing to sort, mostly bf's from his being away, lunch to decide on and then tea to sort. Popping in to ASDA on the way home to collect new contact lenses, bananas and strawberries :-) will pop back again later

    Morning everyone :j
I feel very poor this morning as I've just spent a fortune on stuff to de-flea the house and pets. Never mind, it will be worth it if it works.

I tried to have a lie-in this morning but my bladder had other ideas lol, but I've left hubby in bed so hopefully he will get a good sleep. The girls are up and so is my little grand daughter. She rang me up yesterday evening and asked if she could sleep over....how can you refuse!

It's the junior school fete this afternoon so we will go for a wander later. The girls have been saving their money for the holidays so they can spend some of it there. I'm sure youngest DD will bring back loads of rubbish but it makes her happy. :)

I have a day off cooking today so hubby will make a big cooked breakfast when he gets up and that will set us all up for the day. All we will want then is a sandwich at tea time. I didn't manage to bake a cake earlier this week and I still have an orange lurking in the fruit bowl so I may make a cake later if I can bear to have the oven on. I also need to nag the girls into getting their washing done today before all the BBQ's get lit this afternoon.:rotfl:

I hope everyone manages to relax and enjoy their weekend. Gentle hugs for everyone who would like one.
    Cheers m'dears x

    Morning all,

Was up bright and early at 530, 3 lots of washing done and out on line, lounge polished, went to Mr L for 7 am, spent £51, but got loads, including 6x HP sausages, 4 of which are for the freezer, 2 for dinner tonight on the BBQ as all the kids are here.

Need to run the hoover round the house, tidy the kitchen and clean the bathroom - will wait till the rest of the house wakes up.

Friends have invited us out on their boat later, but high tide is about 11, and not sure if I fancy 3 hours in this heat out on the water, will be cooler but its easy to burn, as there is not much shade on the boat - will decide last minute.

Have a fab day all x

  • Good morning everyone :)

It's a bit overcast this morning but no cooler. Weather looks set to break by Monday with thunderstorms and rain forecast but still appears to be high temperatures. We will see.

Have been awake since 7am and already done all the quiet tidying I can. Making a bit of noise now to try and gently rouse DH so I can get onto hovering etc!

Need to go and get a few bits of shopping later and drop some things off for DD and GDD. Was wondering whether to stock up with a year's worth of loo rolls and take advantages of Mr T petrol offer to get 30p a litre off next fill up but last week, I had a 5p off per litre coupon and when I got to Mr T, their diesel was 4p a litre more than Mr S so my saving was actually 1p per litre. So I think I will give it a miss.

Am trying the low carb sushi for dinner with tuna, smoked mackerel and little prawns plus veggies/salad. I really miss sushi so am hoping this works and we can have it on this diet.

Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for anyone who needs or just wants one. Keep well and safe and have a super day :)

    Morning all,

Another beautiful day here, it got up to 32 in my garden yesterday, I think we are due for it to get cooler for a couple of days and then next week will be even hotter :D I must admit its nice to have some sun for a change.

Our local wildlife animal sanctuary is having about 12 animals bought in daily due to dehydration, poor little things, please please would you all put some water down somewhere I know lot of you put some out for the birds, but the smaller animals need access to some too, so some at ground level would be great if possible :o

Some kind of kebabs for dinner, OH bought them at the butchers, I think they are pork, but the look lovely, will do them with pittas and salad, dd can have a halloumi kebab.

First lot of washing on the go, andother 2 to go, might nip into town later on, will see how we feel.

    Have good days all xx

    Morning all,

I'm fasting today so not much cooking which is good as its too hot:eek:
Usual Saturday clean and then need to nip for a couple of bits and bobs I couldn't get in Aldi.
Apart from that today will be golf, golf and more golf, I don't mind really and have been known to get over excited on the final day.
Hoping for a nice quiet restful weekend.
Have a good day all xx

    Morning all!
I was up early decorating with balloons and banners, today is DS's 18th birthday, where have the years gone????
He has now decide to go out with his friends to bowl, play pool etc, so we are currently waiting for the relatives to descend. Tonight will be sitting here waiting to see if he's reasonably sober when he rolls in!
Have a good day all, and stay safe in the sun!
