Mobile internet data ..

My mobile internet data is being used when l'm not on it.
l have just taken up a 24 month contract with o2 and have 750mb of data but noticed it was using a little amount daily even when l have not used it... l have wi-fi at home so l'm not using any data then, and last night l checked my data while at home and had 745mb left so l thought l would check this out today by not using anything on the phone while l was out on 3G...
Tonight came in and onto my home wi-fi and checked on my mobile phone the data allowance left and it says 743mb .so where has 2 mb data gone since last night as l have'nt used anything...
l have downloaded a my o2 app that checks allowance data so l know its been used but where...
Any answers to where or why this could/has happpened, and how l can stop data draining while not on the internet..

A lot of apps are constantly using data, you can turn off mobile browsing until you need to use it. You should find it under settings.

Its draining due to apps using data .
You need to find them and turn data off for each app .

    > The phone itself will use data to check for updates.

    > If you have GPS/Location turned on, it'll be uploading your location every so often.

    > Weather apps need your location.

    > Download an app that monitors what app uses what data. Then you can see what is using it.

    > If you have email set to "push", then the app will need to check-in with the server to keep the connection alive.

    > If you have a Galaxy Nexus phone then the operating system comes with an inbuilt app to check what is using internet and how much. You'll probably find it will just say "system".

Lastly, it's only a couple of MB.
All smart phones will use a few during a month to work correctly. As the other poster said, turn off data if you're that concerned. But then don't cry when you don't get any notifications :P
