To avoid situations like this in future you might want to consider buying a satnav. Mine at least would have advised me of the need to be in the left-hand lane in this situation.

Yes, am thinking of a satnav. By the way I have driven HGVs both here and in Canada so I am usually very considerate of lorries, this one wasn't even an artic, just a regular class2 or what ever they call that now.

I would say this is the case with the majority of junctions, and as you don't know the area, you should have stayed safely in the left lane instead of trying to race ahead in the right into the unknown.

The trucker probably didn't like you zooming past him and cutting in, he has to put up with a lot of that.

left hand lanes often turn into left turn only lanes too. when its busy and you dont know the area you usually cant see the arrows on the road untill its too late to change lanes easily wkithout upsetting some superior driver

Every now and then, yes, but generally it's the right lane that 'ends'.

Consider how the vast majority of roundabouts are designed so that the left lane is for straight ahead, with just the odd one using the right lane for straight on.

Anyways, how was this story about saving money OP?
And that my son, is how to waft a towel!

unless you crash looking at the sat nav instead of the lorry driver trying to wipe you out

I find most arctics very well driven. Some smaller lorries can be reckless and unprofessionally driven.

I was referring to my satnav telling me to keep left, not looking at a screen picture.
