Welcome finance address mess-up

Hello peeps,

I'm not really sure what to make of this or if anyone can offer help as such but welcome any views...

I'm trying to reclaim ppi so to try and get an application I email welcome finance/cattles with name, address, DOB, loan ref number...the info they asked for and they are saying my address doesn't match up with their system, yet literally this morning I had a statement update delivered to the my address from welcome finance, I have emailed them again saying I will send the statement back by post but i'm confused that if they don't have my address then how did I receive the letter..but what do you guys think, are they just trying to fob me off or buy some time ?

No idea what you're trying to do anyway.

There is an ombudsman complaint form here which you weould use to complain about the missale of PPI [you cannot just ask for it back, it has to have been missold]

You complain to whoever actually sold you the loan. So if 'cattles'; whoever they are sold it to you, then you complain to them.

• It was mis-sold I was told I had to have it...cattles basically owns welcome finance.

But the thing is I was reading on the fscs site about welcome finance which was telling me to email them and now the replys are coming from cattles saying my address doesn't match up with the one on their system, yet they are sending me statements

When did you take out your loan, and have you moved in the last couple of years?
• I took it out in 2008, been at the same address...this is why i'm confused

Have you actually complained?

• Not as such, it says on the fscs website

On behalf of the FSCS, Welcome Financial Services Limited (WFSL) will be making arrangements to contact all policyholders who were sold PPI by WFSL on or after 14 January 2005, to provide them with an application form to complete and return.

Because of the number of WSFL customers potentially affected, claim application forms will be sent out in batches to WFSL customers over a period of approximately 12 months.
If you do not want to wait for an application form to be sent to you, or if you believe you are suffering financial hardship as a result of your dealings with WFSL, you should contact WFSL’s customer services team by email at claimanthelp@wfs.co.uk or on 0845 373 0386 or write to them at:
Welcome Finance
P O Box 10950
Sandringham House
Harlow
CM20 9JF

which is where I emailed them, and now this problem
• bareing in mind they said they would send forms out to every WF customer within a 12 month and this was back in march 2011...I still never received anything which i'm guessing is probably due to the address mess up

So it's FSCS who will deal with your complaint then. Not sure why they think the address is different if you haven't moved - FSCS set up their database on the details in 2011, so they would need to see evidence of any change of address after that. But that doesn't seem to be the case for you.

Email them back and say you haven't moved, and can they have another look.

And to answer your original question, no they are not trying to fob you off or buy some time (not deliberately anyway).

I just have a lack of trust in these company's...

although the fscs are repsonable for the decisions it's WF who handling the claims

I can understand, but the process belongs to the FSCS, not Welcome.

It could just be that when FSCS set up their database, your address didn't transfer over properly for some random IT reason.

It will be easier for you to just send them evidence of your address.
