Ours took about a month to het an offer, but I think 5 days after we submitted they asked for some documents from us.

Since I've been watching this one thought I'd better update my timeline for Nationwide

Got DIP in March, too late to offer on the house we wanted.

Found new house and made offer on 6/5
7/5 popped into branch to ask about increased dip, done there and then
    12/5 - full mortgage meeting/app
    18/5 - valuation
19/5 - email saying mortgage offer

Very impressed considering it's only been 8 days from full app to offer!

    Good luck everyone

Ours has been about 6 weeks so far, which also included getting a survey done. We have one issue to resolve and we are hopefully exchanging next Friday
  • I can finally post our process!!!

So we are buying 30% s/o newbuild and mortgage with Leeds

    14/4 AIP approved

15/4 paid reservation fee to HA

20/4 memorandum of sale finally sent to MB. After a week of chasing.

21/4 application to Leeds submitted and fees taken.

25/4 email from MB to ask for gift deposit letter and to say application had been submitted (not sure why after it had been done 21/4)
MB said they would chase Friday!

We have exchange date of 18th May.

29/4 MB emailed to say 'we should have an outcome by 9th May'

    30/4 Valuation booked for 5/5

2/ 4 Ask MB would we get asked for more documents now? I don't understand if we are due an outcome by Monday how will they ask for more documents in 2 working days?

5/5 MB said documents may be asked for after first assessment, then moved to underwriter for final offer check which takes 3 working days. Valuation is today too.

6/5 Valuation came back fine. Leeds requested more documents. Proof of address for both me and partner for 2016. An accountants letter explaining a dip in profits and projected 2016 earnings and an employers ref. All sent back within 24 hours. Leeds said they will come back to us on 13th May ( yes Leeds seem to be painfully slow)

13/5 2pm rung MB as couldn't bear it any longer, MB said close of business 5pm receive email to say application has been moved to final offer check so will have an outcome by next Wed which was our exchange date.

18/5 Leeds emailed MB to say they had a delay so we would have to wait until the next day.

19/5 Leeds emailed 5pm to day still not ready. MB put in complaint to say we had been very quick on our side so it was unfair to delay as we had already missed the exchange date.

20/5 9.30am mortgage offer emailed to us to sign!

    Thanks
We just spoke with our solicitor and seller and they both hope us to move in the middle of June. So fingers crossed.

After many phone calls over the weekend, our ID was finally signed off on Saturday.......or so we thought. Rang today as instructed to book valuation but were told something hasnt not been checked in the system!!!

the person we spoke to suspects this is just a simple human error and we need to ring tonight when it should be all ok.

    The debacle with FD continues!

This sounds exactly like whats happening to us and I'm getting really, really annoyed now. I've just rang up FD AGAIN today to check the progress, we got acceptance text on the 7th May and it said valuations would be done 7/10 days after, nothing has happened no contact at all. Just rang up today and they have to contact my partner at work to verify they are in employment... why has that not been done already? Why am I having to chase up admin? I have the estate agents on the phone three times a week asking for updates and I can't give them any. If we lose the house because of pointless admin delays by the bank I will be furious.

Having a bad day with the house.

Basically found out a month after the valuation took place that my mortgage advisor didn't instruct a home buyers report at the same time, which we had asked him to do. So a month later, no home buyers report. Mortgage advisor unhelpful. Instructed Miler Metcalfe to do one, find out this has been booked for 5 weeks from now.

EA says it's because the surveyor is going on holiday, so ring MM to ask and they say the vendor is being awkward and refusing to leave a key for the EA.

Lots of to-ing and fro-ing has been done, now I can't ring MM as they've closed for day. So the madness continues for another day.
