Just had an email from the solicitors, the seller is claiming it was lived in by their relative, it has never been a rental.

Guess the £1 coin meters in the bedrooms and the additional kitchen in the attic was for the 'children' then? Or elderly relatives?? Honestly, what is the point!

Accord valuation FINALLY planned for tomorrow - fingers crossed for a low valuation please everyone!

Oops, forgot to say, Good Luck everyone ! I am still waiting on one local search from the solicitor - nearly 30 days later, still waiting, if it is the drainage survey I can give her my copy of the CCTV survey I shelled out £150 for last week!

Fun and games!!! keep smiling everyone, the whole process is ridiculous, and a very Happy March to you all!

I applied for a mortgage 2 weeks ago online with First Direct.. amended it online yesterday for a higher amount (even though our offer wasn't accepted as we didnt want a delay!) as we pulled out the original house and today I had a call not long ago saying it's been agreed and the next step is the valuation...
Luckily our offer was accepted this morning phew... So I am assuming as long as the valuation is in line with theirs that our mortgage is approved! We think it might be over priced in the market however, we loved it and are prepared to pay for it... hoping First Direct agree!
Not sure when the valuation is but it seems to have been quick so far! It's a 75% LTV

    Hi All

I've joined the waiting queue. Went into HSBC yesterday for the One Day Mortgage service. Was told that our application had been sent to underwriters as they couldn't find me on the voters roll (I know I am as I voted) and because it was a 90%LTV

    Timeline
    DIP: 1st February
    Offer Accepted: 23rd February
    Mortgage Application:29th February

Anybody know the average time to wait for an underwriter decision with HSBC?

Mortgage Advisor seemed to think voters roll was a non issue given I had provided bank statements and that we should be fine given the fact we were going for a 5yr fixed and looked good on affordability.

    Fingers crossed!

    Good luck all

Currently waiting for our mortgage offer as well.

    Timeline:
    DIP: 9Th January
    Offer Accepted: 15th February
    Mortgage Application: 19th February

Mortgage application is with Platform and they came back Friday 26th February asking for February's bank statement so they could see my pay had gone in for January. I provided this to our broker on Friday. Currently waiting to here. They have said they won't instruct survey until an offer subject to valuation is given. Seems to be a very slow process at the moment.

    Anyone dealt with Platform before?

Valuation came back today - at our purchase price, despite the fact we offered £17K over asking price. Awesome.

I've received an email this afternoon from MA with the Mortgage Offer Attached from the lender, I'm glad the wait is over and now I can think on when the big move comes. Good luck to you all waiting. X

And boom, straight into a mortgage offer this morning!

So that makes my complete timeline:
08/02 - offer accepted on the house
09/02 - telephone appointment with mortgage adviser
12/02 - application pack arrives in post
    13/02 - post it back
16/02 - got a call to take card details for fees
17/02 - got a call from the underwriter to confirm financials looked good and to take agent's details to arrange valuation
18/02 - agent let me know the valuation was arranged
    26/02 - valuation happened
01/03 - valuation report came in
    02/03 - mortgage offer!

Very impressed with Virgin - the ball was only in their court for a total of about 5 working days.
