yes, Nationwide keep you informed of all the major steps by text (assuming they've been give your mobile numbers) - next text will be to say the valuation is booked, then received.....then onto mortgage offer!! good luck
Thank you 😊
Am I right in thinking they only book the valuation once everything else is done and they are happy? I.e its in the essentially in the bag so long as the valuation comes back?
We are buying a new build so would assume it is all ok for valuations, the developers said they haven't had any issues they were aware of.0 -
I don't know tbh, we have certainly had more checks since the valuation - needed to confirm some transactions on our bank statements and then it went to a senior underwriter. Having said that I'm hoping we get the official offer text in the next couple of days as I think everything had come back OK and more they're doing final checks - whatever they are!!0

We had an offer accepted last Wednesday and the mortgage broker did an initial search last Thursday and we had an acceptance in principal for Coventry.
He is doing the full application today, fingers crossed everything goes through.
Does anyone have experience of Coventry? What are their timescales generally?
10/08/15 - Full application made
14/08/15 - Survey taking place
Hopefully it all goes ok!0 -

We got our mortgage offer today for the residential property! Text message from Woolwich and an email from the broker. Just as I was giving up all hope of this house same going through at all.
Too exhausted to be happy but relieved is more the appropriate word.0 -
Was hoping I would have a response from Nationwide today as most seem to get a valuation date the day after submission. I guess I'll at least be waiting until Monday now
Frustrating thing is I need to give 2 months notice on my current rented property so each day is costing a lot due to completion most likely being before then!
When would you guys give notice, would it be once offer has been sent out? (I'm buying a new build so not anticipating any issues with completion once mortgage is in place (please say if i'm being naive)).0 -
Wait until you've exchanged contracts to give notice. Overlap and some extra cost is a million times better than having to put everything in storage and couch surf until completion.0

Thanks libf, that is the sensible thing to do, I'll try and hold my nerve. Just so excited/impatient! lol0

Hey. I have actually read the whole 187 pages on this thread and have found it most informative so thought I'd join in. Here is my/our(hubby) timescale.
Fell in love with a house while casually browsing zoopla
So wed 29th house viewing
29/07;; contacted broker reccomended by mother in law he was lovely got us a DIP instantly from nationwide.
30/07 offer in and accepted.
With the weekends actual application didn't go in through broker untill
5/08:: all looks ok send broker documents needed etc problem as I couldn't get p60 but hubby's should be ok.
Broker rings Friday 7/08 to request couple more documents and tells us we should have an offer subject to valuation he is shocked at how quickly nationwide acted.
Did have a valuation text on application day but had no dat just your valuation has been rescheduled to.
I never realised how stressful this is. Unreal. Hope someone else can relate. Ps were had 3 soft credit checks and 4 hard(showing up through experian)
Good luck everyone. Laura x
Still no valuation date set so another weekend of short tempers and no light.0
